Health Wealth & Career – Investments Business

The Investment business at Willis Towers Watson has over 1000 colleagues worldwide who provide services and advice to a diverse range of institutional investors, including large pension funds, insurance companies, sovereign wealth funds, endowments and foundations. As a trusted partner to over 1,200 clients, it advises on over $2 trillion of global assets and has discretion over more than $150 billion of assets. It works closely with teams in the Human Capital and Benefits business, particularly those providing actuarial and other services to many of the world’s top pension funds.

WTW assists clients in the management of their investment programs by offering full-service investment outsourcing (Delegated Investment Services) in addition to traditional investment advisory services. The DIS team is responsible for guiding client investment committees through a complete strategy development process and investment implementation. Our services include working with clients to establish and review appropriate level of risk tolerance for their investment programs and help them define and improve their governance. We combine innovative thinking with capable execution so clients can successfully balance risk and return. For those clients looking to exit defined benefit plan sponsorship altogether, we offer dynamic journey plan solutions (this can range from de-risking the plan to settling the plan with an insurance provider). Outsourced implementation services are provided by a dedicated team of specialists who manage all aspects of the investment program including policy compliance, manager transitions and monitoring and liquidity and cash flow management.

Our commitment to innovation and research means clients get access to the best investment ideas. We have one of the industry’s largest investment strategy teams, with disciplines that include investment banking, asset management and actuarial science. We also have more than 100 investment manager research professionals covering all asset classes from mainstream to alternative investments, including hedge funds and private equity. We have offered investment outsourcing in the U.S. since 2001 and are focused on expanding these services to a broader array of clients. With this deep specialist expertise, we turn innovative concepts into practical, independent advice tailored to meet our clients' needs.
