About the role
Are you ready to build the future of Latin America? 🚀
At Rappi, we build the SuperApp that changes the lives of millions of people every day. We are a team driven by speed, execution, and real results.
This is where things happen. If you are excited by solving real-scale problems, learning at record speed, and seeing the impact of your ideas in a matter of days, this is your place.
Want to build the systems that move millions of people every day? 🛠️
The challenge
We are looking for someone passionate about process automation who can help eliminate manual and repetitive work within the security area and its surrounding operations. The main focus of the role is to design, build, and maintain automations — from response orchestration and alert enrichment to integrations between tools and day-to-day operational tasks. What we value is the ability to understand a process, model it, and turn it into reliable, reusable code, working in a 100% cloud environment. You will work independently on a globally distributed team, collaborating closely with the SecOps teams to automate tasks that currently consume human time. RESPONSIBILITIES Design, develop, and maintain automation workflows for security and operations processes (onboarding/offboarding, alert enrichment, routine incident response, reporting) Develop integrations between tools via MCP, REST APIs, webhooks, and message queues to connect systems that currently operate in silos Create and maintain reusable automation pipelines, following best practices for version control, testing, and documentation Implement infrastructure as code (Terraform, AWS CDK) to deploy and maintain automations in a reproducible way Monitor the health of automations and troubleshoot failures, ensuring reliability and observability Document each automation clearly so the team can operate and maintain it Apply security fundamentals to everything you build: secure secrets management, least privilege for IAM roles, and logging of automated actions Collaborate with the security teams to translate manual detection and response processes into automated workflows Integrate security sources (GuardDuty, Security Hub, CloudTrail) as triggers for automations Support the operation of basic security controls and their automation
Your challenges
- Develop and deliver new product features with production-grade quality
- Work in cross-functional teams (Product, QA, Data, Commercial) to deliver user value
- Conduct code reviews and contribute to squad best practices
- Participate in on-call rotations and respond to production incidents
- Contribute to technical design of features and architecture improvements
You will be a great fit
- Experience: more than 3 years in backend development
- English: Intermediate-advanced
- Proficiency in at least one: Python, Go, Rust
- Experience with microservices and distributed systems
- Experience in agile squads and remote-first environments (desirable)
Tech profile
What you need to master
- Solid scripting and development skills in Python (and Bash); ability to write maintainable and testable code
- Experience building integrations via REST APIs: authentication (OAuth, API keys), pagination, error handling, and rate limiting
- Experience with AWS, especially serverless and orchestration services: Lambda, Step Functions, EventBridge, SQS/SNS
- Knowledge of infrastructure as code: Terraform or AWS CDK
- Knowledge of cybersecurity fundamentals: identity and access (IAM), secrets management, the principle of least privilege, logging, and auditing
- Proficiency with version control (Git) and CI/CD practices
- Knowledge of AI/LLM tools and how to use them to automate tasks (LLM APIs, prompting, content enrichment and generation, agents/assistants)
- Ability to understand a business or operational process and model it as a reliable automation
What makes you different
- Automation mindset: if a task is done more than twice, you think about how to turn it into code
- Pragmatism and results orientation: you deliver automations that work and are reliable, not overengineered solutions
- Curiosity to understand others' processes and suggest improvements
- Clear written and async communication for 100% remote and distributed teams
- Autonomy and ownership of what you build, including its maintenance and observability
We believe our talent deserves the best tools to make an impact with purpose.
