📣 We hosted a hiring event on August 28th, where our team spoke about what a day in the life of an AE at Motion is really like, plus they did a Q&A! You can watch this 30 minute video HERE to get a ton of insights!

About Motion 💡

Marketing today runs on creative, and the teams doing it best understand that creative is both an art and a science. Rather than shipping ads and hoping they land, they build systems to understand what's driving performance, then turn those insights into repeat successes.
Motion is built to help teams do exactly that. Our platform helps marketing teams understand which of their online ads are performing best and why, so they can ship more winners across Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok, and YouTube.
We found product-market fit as an analytics platform, then dove headfirst into AI over the past couple of years, and that bet is paying off: our valuation has nearly tripled in two years, and we now help some of the world's top ecommerce and DTC brands and agencies, like Vuori, AG1, and HexClad, turn insights into results.

We're an ambitious team with big goals, and we're looking for talented people to help us shape the future of AI-powered marketing!

About the Account Executive role 🔍

Motion just launched Runneth, an AI marketing agent, and demand has taken off as companies rethink how they work, create, and market with AI. We’re growing our go-to-market team to help more customers navigate that shift and turn Runneth into a tool they can't imagine working without!
Things that make this role unique ✨

• No sales experience required. Our AEs work with creators and marketers at some of the world’s leading e-commerce brands. For this role, sales experience is a bonus, deep performance marketing expertise is a must.
• Our product-market fit is unmatched. When we book a meeting with the right person, we're not cold-pitching; we're showing up with the best answer to a problem teams are already eager to solve.
• You'd learn from the best. You'd work closely with Evan Lee (Head of GTM) and directly with Miguel Lozano, a Motion OG who joined early in his sales career and has since grown into one of our top AEs and a team manager.

What you'd be doing 🛠️

• Driving full-cycle mid-market revenue. You’ll own net-new and expansion revenue across our mid-market segment.
• Managing accounts. Our AEs stay closely involved after the deal closes, helping customers succeed, identifying opportunities to expand, and owning a churn target.
• Helping scale our outbound motion. Our team is building a scalable, trigger and list-based outbound strategy. You’ll help operationalize and execute it as it rolls out.
• Acting as a trusted advisor. You’ll combine your performance marketing expertise with a consultative sales approach to help prospects build stronger performance creative processes and understand how Motion can solve the challenges holding them back.
• Treating customers like future partners, not leads to be closed. Of course we want to sell our product, but we believe that long-term success comes from a collaborative sales process.
• Leading by example. You’ll use your domain expertise to coach our SMB AEs and raise the bar across the broader sales team.

Our ideal fit brings ✨

• Deep performance marketing expertise. This is a must. You know the industry and can hold credible, confident conversations with growth and creative leaders at some of the world’s top DTC brands and agencies.
• High agency and ambition. You’re extremely ambitious, unafraid of the grind, and don't wait to be told what to do once the goal is clear.
• An obsession with the craft. You care deeply about the quality of your work, reflect on your performance, and are always looking for ways to improve.
• Strong communication and presentation skills. You’re charismatic and compelling on calls. Bonus points for public speaking or theatre experience!
• Low ego. You’re collaborative, eager to learn, and never let ego get in the way.
• Sharp critical thinking. You form your own opinions, communicate them clearly, and are not afraid to challenge the status quo.
• Adaptability. You’re comfortable in a fast-moving environment and can pivot quickly as priorities evolve.
• Instant likeability and trustworthiness. People enjoy working with you, trust your judgment, and want you in the room.
• Bonus points for past sales experience and/or firsthand experience using Motion.

• Growth that speaks for itself: We’re a Series B company with strong product-market fit, and our valuation has nearly tripled in the past two years.
• Opportunity for impact: We’re still very much in startup mode, so your work will directly shape the product, the team, and the future of the business.
• Team connection: We’re remote-first, but stay close through an AI virtual office and come together in person at least once a year for a company-wide retreat, usually in Muskoka!

We closed out 2024 with a $30M Series B raise and strong signals from our customers. In 2025, we built the foundational capabilities our customers rely on, setting the stage for what's to come. In 2026, with fresh funding ($65M+ total capital raised), we’re building forward from that foundation, taking what we learned to market in a deeply AI-native way.
🌎 Location: Motion is a fully remote company, but we’re looking for someone based in Canada or the United States who can work with significant overlap to ET working hours.
💸 Compensation:

• Canada: $87,500 CAD base, $210,000 CAD OTE
• United States: $87,500 USD base, $175,000 USD OTE

We use artificial intelligence (AI) in certain parts of our recruiting process at Motion, ranging from administrative and efficiency-focused support to, in some cases, conducting introductory interviews. Every AI interview is reviewed, and every hiring decision is made, by a (human) member of our team.
