We belive that human progress is invaluable, but it should be done in the right way - responsibly, sustainably and having a positive impact on the communities we operate in.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Information Systems, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in product lifecycle management, configuration management, or engineering data management for complex electromechanical hardware, including leading PLM or configuration management teams, ideally at a hyperscaler, cloud provider, server or rack OEM, or AI infrastructure company.
- Proven experience leading PLM platform selection and implementation (e.g., Arena, Teamcenter, Windchill, Oracle Agile, Duro, or Propel), including requirements definition, vendor evaluation, configuration, data migration, and integration with ERP and CAD/EDA systems.
- Strong technical understanding of BOM structures (EBOM, MBOM, and service BOMs), item and revision control, effectivity, and configuration management principles such as CMII or EIA-649; CM2 or equivalent configuration management certification preferred.
- Hands-on experience managing engineering and product change processes (ECR/ECN/ECO, PCN, deviations, and waivers), including change control board operation and supplier change notification.
- Working expertise defining part, product, and document numbering schemes, classification and attribute standards, and master data governance (Part Master, Product Master) across engineering, supply chain, and finance.
- Deep understanding of Part Master content requirements, including part definition and specifications, manufacturer and supplier part data, compliance information (e.g., RoHS, REACH, conflict minerals, and export classification), logistics information (e.g., unit of measure, packaging, weight, dimensions, and country of origin), sourcing information (e.g., approved manufacturers and vendors, lead times, and cost), and lifecycle status.
- Experience with rack-scale compute, power, cooling, and networking hardware in data center environments, including working directly with OEM and ODM partners to define BOM structures, part data, and change processes.
- Strong cross-functional leadership and change management skills, with a track record of influencing stakeholders across Hardware Engineering, Quality, Sourcing, Operations, IT, and Finance.
Responsibilities
- Own the PLM strategy and roadmap for IREN's AI infrastructure hardware portfolio, defining how product data is created, controlled, released, and consumed across the product lifecycle.
- Lead the evaluation and selection of IREN's PLM platform software, defining business requirements, driving vendor assessments and demonstrations, and recommending the solution to leadership.
- Configure and deploy the PLM solution to meet IREN's business needs, including workflows, roles and permissions, item and BOM structures, and integrations with ERP, CAD, and supplier systems.
- Define and govern part numbering, product numbering, document numbering, and related naming and classification standards for use across IREN.
- Establish and maintain Master Data definitions, including Part Master and Product Master attributes, data ownership, and data quality rules.
- Build and maintain Bills of Materials throughout the product lifecycle, from new product introduction through sustaining and end-of-life, ensuring accuracy, revision control, and effectivity.
- Manage the engineering change process (ECRs, ECNs, and ECOs) and Product Change Notifications (PCNs), including change control board cadence, impact assessment, disposition, and communication to internal teams and suppliers.
- Build and lead a high-performing PLM team of PLM Coordinators, establishing best practices, KPIs, and governance cadences as IREN's hardware portfolio scales.
- Partner with Hardware Engineering, Quality, Sourcing, Operations, and Finance to ensure a single source of truth for product data and a clean hand-off from engineering release to procurement and build.
- Develop PLM documentation, training, and user adoption programs so that teams across IREN work within the system and its standards.
- Define and report PLM KPIs such as BOM accuracy, change cycle time, and master data completeness, and drive continuous improvement against them.
- Serve as the escalation point for product data integrity issues and PLM system support, working with IT and the platform vendor to resolve them.
- Pre-employment screening, including background check and substance testing may be required according to company policies.
- Must be able to reliably commute to the assigned office location on scheduled in-office days under the hybrid work arrangement.
- This role requires minimal travel (approximately 5-10%) to supplier and vendor sites, data centers, and industry events.
