In addition, the team maintains close alignment with business leaders to support enterprise strategies and advance a best-in-class procurement organization using Stanley Fulfillment System principles.
The Sourcing Procurement Manager, Global Procurement, is responsible for the effective and efficient management of all indirect spend in Mexico. This role supports the organization through the development and execution of sourcing strategies across indirect categories, while also ensuring strong day-to-day procurement execution for the business.
This position operates in a hybrid model, combining strategic sourcing leadership with procurement operations support. The role is expected to drive long-term category strategy, supplier optimization, and productivity initiatives, while also ensuring responsive operational support, continuity of supply and services, stakeholder satisfaction, and compliance with procurement processes.
This is a flexible, in-person position based at Monterrey Plant.
This role will report directly to the Corporate Indirect Regional Director, with a dotted-line reporting relationship to the LAG Manufacturing VP.
The scope includes responsibility for indirect categories such as MRO, Facilities, Professional Services, Utilities, Temporary Labor, IT, and other indirect spend categories as applicable. The successful candidate should bring a particularly strong understanding of MRO, Crib Planning, Facilities, and Professional Services, including supplier landscape knowledge, cost drivers, service models, negotiation levers, and operational requirements.
The role requires strong analytical capability, including advanced spend analysis across plants, functions, and business units, and the ability to identify and execute productivity, cost reduction, working capital, and supplier optimization initiatives. The successful candidate must be able to build strong cross-functional relationships, work effectively in a matrix organization, and communicate with stakeholders at plant, country, regional, and global levels.
Major duties and responsibilities:
Lead sourcing and procurement activities for indirect spend categories in Mexico, developing and executing strategies aligned with Global Procurement priorities, business goals, and margin resiliency initiatives. This hybrid role combines strategic sourcing with hands-on procurement operations to support both long-term category plans and day-to-day purchasing needs, ensuring business continuity and service delivery.
Key responsibilities include analyzing spend and market data to identify sourcing opportunities, cost savings, supplier consolidation, and demand management actions; supporting supplier network initiatives to reduce total cost, improve service, mitigate risk, and strengthen supply continuity; and executing procurement strategies in line with corporate guidelines and market conditions.
The role also leads supplier selection through RFP, RFQ, and RFI processes, manages commercial negotiations and contract implementation, and oversees supplier contracts, service levels, compliance, renewals, and performance expectations. In addition, it supports procurement operations for assigned categories and stakeholders, including requisition-to-purchase activities, supplier coordination, issue resolution, and continuity of supply and services.
Success in this role requires close partnership with cross-functional stakeholders such as Operations, Engineering, Finance, Legal, Logistics, IT, HR, EHS, Facilities, and Plant Leadership. The position also provides Mexico market expertise, supports budgeting and forecasting, tracks sourcing pipelines and savings delivery, drives process improvement, ensures policy and DoA compliance, supports audits, and collaborates with regional and global category leaders. Approximately 15% is required.
The Person
The ideal candidate is growth-oriented, adaptable, and motivated by innovation and meaningful contribution. They bring strong knowledge of sourcing, procurement, supplier management, and commercial negotiations in domestic and international environments, with particular expertise in indirect categories such as MRO, Facilities, and Professional Services.
They should demonstrate strong analytical, financial, and project management skills, with the ability to assess opportunities, build business cases, manage multiple priorities, and make sound decisions in fast-paced environments. Strong communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills are essential, along with executive presence and the ability to work effectively across functions, cultures, and organizational levels. Fluency in English and Spanish is required; Portuguese is a plus. Experience in global or regional, multi-site, matrixed organizations is preferred.
Candidates should also reflect Stanley Black & Decker leadership qualities, including accountability, integrity, discipline, respect, speed, stretch, vision, and open-mindedness, along with personal strengths such as proactivity, teamwork, innovation, ethics, and relationship building.
