Overview

Allswell is building the leading mental health services company for the LGBTQIA+ community. Affirming, high-quality care for this population is still hard to find and harder to afford, and we are addressing that need with a diverse team of clinicians trained in LGBTQIA+-affirming practices and specialty care, digital tools that makes our clinicians more effective, and insurance coverage that puts real care within reach.

The clinical outcomes are strong and the growth is fast. Since launching we have served hundreds of clients across Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC, in-network with Medicaid and major commercial plans in all three regions. 71% of clients report reduced depression (based on PHQ-9 scores) and 77% report reduced anxiety (based on GAD-7 scores) after 60 or more days of care.

We are expanding our services and footprint quickly, and building the team to match. Backed by leading healthcare and impact investors, we have the runway to do it right.

Our Clinical Model

Our care model uses gold standard approaches to address the unique needs of the LGBTQIA+ community. Developed with leading clinical experts in trauma-informed and LGBTQIA+ care, it pairs affirming, evidence-based treatment with proprietary tools that extend care beyond the session. Chief among them is our Trauma Journal, a structured Written Exposure Therapy-inspired tool that supports clients with trauma-related presenting concerns between visits and deepens the impact of their therapy work. This is what allows our clinicians to deliver the outcomes above, and it is a core part of what makes practicing at Allswell different.

About the Role

Allswell is seeking pre-licensed therapists / counselors in DC (LGSW, LGPC, or MFT) to provide individual telehealth therapy to LGBTQIA+ clients. This is a fully remote contractor role with a minimum commitment of 10 sessions per week and flexible scheduling (you pick your own hours).

You will deliver affirming, trauma-informed, evidence-based care while working toward full independent licensure, supported by free clinical supervision. We handle billing, scheduling, and client outreach so you can focus on care. You will report to the Clinical Director and participate in required clinical supervision hours, which count toward your licensure requirements.

• Clinical Model: Deliver care using a range of evidence-based modalities (including CBT, DBT, EMDR, and CPT) matched to each client's needs, and use our proprietary tools such as the Trauma Journal and Written Exposure Therapy protocol to extend support between sessions.

• Supervision & Growth: Participate in regular clinical supervision to support your development toward full independent licensure.

• Availability: Maintain a minimum of 10 sessions per week of client-facing time, with flexible scheduling.
