About the Partner Operations Team
The Commercial Strategy team sits within the Business Development & Commercial Programs org and is responsible for helping take ideas from 0 to 1 by leading strategic initiatives and bets, and partnering cross functionally with other teams to test, experiment, and implement new strategies. The Partner Operations sub-team is the engine behind Thumbtack's partnerships business. We build the scalable systems, processes, and infrastructure that turn partner opportunities into operational reality. Beyond running the day-to-day, we lead high-priority strategic initiatives and early-stage pilots that don't fit neatly into existing lanes, coordinate cross-functionally to align workflows and ownership for new capabilities, and drive the transition from pilot to scalable operations. When we do our job well, partners grow, capabilities expand, and revenue increases.
About the role
As a Partner Operations Analyst at Thumbtack, you'll play a key role in keeping our partnerships business running smoothly while helping build the processes and systems that support its growth. You'll own partner onboarding and ongoing operational support, work closely with internal teams and external partners, and help turn new partnership initiatives into scalable, repeatable operations.
This role is a mix of hands-on execution, cross-functional project management, and continuous improvement. You'll have the opportunity to lead projects independently, use AI and automation to simplify workflows, and help launch new programs as our partnerships business evolves. We're looking for someone who's organized, resourceful, and comfortable navigating ambiguity—someone who enjoys solving problems, taking ownership, and finding better ways to get things done.
What you’ll do
Own the partner onboarding pipeline from Partner Application Portal to Pro Marketplace, making sure every partner is set up, live, and active.
Provide ongoing account management for high-value software and marketing partners, acting as their main operational point of contact.
Lead independent projects from scoping, planning, and delivery, driving process and systems improvements by managing timelines and dependencies across teams.
Build and maintain automation, including AI tools, for data collection, tracking, and reporting so the team spends less time on manual work.
Support new pilots and partnership launches, from fulfillment and refunds to pro surveys and early program feedback.
Partner with Engineering, external developers, Partnerships, and Support to resolve issues, test new tools, and move process improvements forward.
Keep workflows, documentation, and Jira dashboards current so volume, bottlenecks, and partner health are visible to leadership.
In order to be successful, you must bring
3+ years in operations, partner or account management, customer success, or support operations, preferably at a marketplace or tech company.
Experience owning a process end to end, from mapping and documenting it to improving it.
A track record of delivering a cross-functional project where you set the plan, managed dependencies, and can point to the result.
Comfortable with Salesforce, Jira, and spreadsheets; experience building dashboards or reports, and exposure to APIs and product integrations.
Experience using AI or automation tools to cut down on manual work.
Clear written and verbal English, and confidence working with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including external partners.
Able to work U.S. hours, including graveyard shifts, with occasional schedule changes.
Actual offered salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as calibrated job level, qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.
