About the role
About Birches Health:
Online gambling has taken over the US. Over 200 million Americans now regularly bet on sports and the rates of gambling addiction have skyrocketed since online gambling’s legalization. As widespread gambling creates record levels of addiction, debt, and bankruptcy, millions of problem gamblers still cannot access specialized, comprehensive care that they desperately need.
At Birches Health, we’re beating the online gambling epidemic with virtual therapy for gambling addiction from specialized clinicians. Our care is covered by insurance and state funding to ensure access to treatment for problem gamblers. We work with patients throughout their gambling addiction journey to improve clinical outcomes and reduce healthcare costs.
Our mission is to build the medical and technological infrastructure for behavioral addiction in the US to make sure millions of patients receive the highest quality clinical outcomes and path to recovery they deserve. We’re backed by leading healthcare and gaming investors including General Catalyst, AlleyCorp, Will Ventures, Defy, Haystack, Operator Partners, and C-suite angels at private and public companies.
Join us to bring addiction care into the present day.
About the Role
Most people who need help for gambling, pornography, or other behavioral and process addictions show up somewhere else before a specialized provider. That can be: a primary care visit, a sportsbook self-exclusion screen, or a campus clinical advisor. Our partners are those front doors, but a signed partnership only works if the people on the other side actually refer.
This entry-level Strategy team role, reporting to the SVP of Strategy, puts you in the field making that happen: Starting with healthcare partnerships across the Northeast, you'll turn signed partners into producing referral channels, help open the next ones, and own the numbers that show what's working.
What You’ll Own
- Activate healthcare partnerships first. Visit healthcare practices across the Northeast, meet staff, and walk them through how to identify clients who need specialized care. Leave every practice with the materials and a clear, simple referral process, and go back until referrals show up.
- Be the face of Birches Health in the field. Run regular in-person check-ins, lunch-and-learns, and staff training. Become the person our partners reach out to when they have a question, spot when a practice goes quiet and fix it, and bring back what you hear about what's working and what isn't.
- Track what you drive and prove it works. Log visits, contacts, and follow-ups in our CRM, track referrals and first appointments by partner, and turn that into recurring readouts and partner case studies so we know which practices and channels are producing, where to spend time next, and what to show the next partner.
- Own collateral and materials. Build, update, and deliver one-pagers, referral cards, waiting-room materials, partner decks, and training guides, tailored for a PCP office, a sportsbook compliance team, or a university counseling center. Keep inventory stocked and make sure nothing sits in a box.
- Support industry partners. Help activate and maintain partnerships with operators, prediction markets, leagues, and universities through event support, staff training, and on-site presence where it matters.
- Represent Birches Health at events and open the next doors. Staff conferences, health fairs, and industry events, turn conversations into follow-ups and new partner leads, and help build target lists and book first meetings for the next set of partners in our priority markets.
You'll get direct exposure to how partnerships are built, sold, and scaled at a venture-backed healthcare company, with a clear path to more ownership as you prove what you can deliver. The channels you activate become yours to run.
What We’re Looking For
- Early in your career: 0 to 3 years in field sales, medical or pharmaceutical sales, account management, partnerships, community outreach, or a similar customer-facing role. Recent graduates with real hustle, including from consulting or top programs, are encouraged to apply.
- Comfortable in the field: You like being out of the office and in front of people. You're organized enough to cover a lot of ground without dropping follow-ups.
- Relentless and self-directed: You take "get these ten practices referring" and run with it. You don't wait to be told what's next.
- Structured with your numbers: You keep the CRM clean without being asked, are fast in Sheets, and can turn a week of visits into a one-page update leadership can act on.
- Clear communicator: You can explain Birches simply to a physician, a practice manager, or a sportsbook's compliance lead, and you write clean, on-brand materials without a lot of rework.
- Mission-driven: You care about getting people with gambling problems into care. Experience in healthcare, sports, or gaming is a plus; none is required.
- AI-native working practice: You use AI tools daily to multiply your output, and can show how.
- Location: Based in the Northeast [Boston area preferred], with a valid driver's license and regular regional travel.
Compensation: $75,000 - $100,000 annually (including base and variable compensation).
