About GAIN

GAIN is strengthening financial resilience worldwide by building up the actuarial profession and deepening local insurance markets. Launched in 2022 by the UNDP and Milliman, GAIN addresses the urgent need for actuarial expertise to quantify and manage risks, fostering more resilient economies and communities. In many low and middle-income countries, the actuarial profession is emerging, with few qualified national experts. GAIN is driving change in this landscape by delivering targeted capacity-building, mentorship, and policy support. Through collaborative action, driven by local stakeholders, GAIN empowers countries to develop homegrown actuarial talent and implement robust insurance frameworks, laying the foundation for sustainable growth and climate resilience around the world. Greater information on the program can be found on the LinkedIn page.
