Sona Sona is Yandex's generative AI model that replaces an entire multi-stage music recommendation cascade with a single jointly trained model. It handles candidate generation through ranking without hand-engineered features. In a live A/B test on Yandex Music smart-speaker recommendations it lifted active users 4.53%, listening time 6.3% and likes 11.42%.
