Douwe Kiela is a research scientist director at Google DeepMind, co-founder and former CEO of Contextual AI, and an adjunct professor at Stanford. Previously, he was Head of Research at Hugging Face and a researcher at Facebook AI Research. His work focuses on retrieval-augmented generation, grounded language understanding and evaluation. He earned a PhD and MPhil at Cambridge, an MSc in Logic at Amsterdam, and a BSc at Utrecht.
