The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology

is a public university in Sai Kung District, New Territories, Hong Kong. Founded in 1991, it was the territory's third institution to be granted university status, the first research university and the first university without any precursory existence upon its formation, with English as its primary medium of instruction and assessment since its establishment.
