Chris Kaminski is a Ph.D. candidate in Mechanical Engineering at Duke University, specializing in turbomachinery stability & aeroelastic analysis via CFD coded in Fortran. My previous experiences exhibit both breadth and depth. At Duke, I develop Fortran-based numerical solvers for turbomachinery with a focus on global stability analysis. My previous UCF research, including working on NASA’s Dragonfly Project, focused on CFD-driven aerodynamic optimization. At Northrop Grumman, I automated airworthiness certification with Python and supported critical subsystems on their premier manned aircraft platform. As a Duke Capital Partners Associate, I evaluate investment opportunities by screening companies, conducting due diligence, analyzing data rooms, and presenting these findings to DCP investors to facilitate deal flow. Observing the startup landscape from a VC standpoint has shown me what is required for new ventures to succeed. I am passionate about the revitalization of the American industrial base and the development of hard tech at scale.
