Atomic Machines builds the Matter Compiler, an AI-native, all-digital manufacturing system that builds working micro-machines directly from code, with no molds, masks or fixtures. Its machines have moving parts, multiple materials and features down to single-digit microns, and every operation is measured so the system learns with each build. After six years in stealth, the company emerged in October 2026 with $250M in funding and unveiled its first product, PrimeSwitch, a fast electromechanical power relay for 800-volt DC power in AI data centers. Atomic Machines is based in Emeryville, California, and led by founder and CEO Jeff Holden, Amazon's tenth engineer and Uber's former Chief Product Officer.

Matter Compiler

An AI-native manufacturing system that builds working micro-machines from code. No per-product tooling or process development is required; different digital input produces a different functional machine, starting with micron-scale devices such as high-speed power relays.

PrimeSwitch

PrimeSwitch is the first micro-machine built by the Matter Compiler: a bistable electromechanical power relay for 800-volt DC distribution in AI data centers. Atomic Machines says it opens in 50 microseconds, about a thousand times faster than a conventional contactor.
