He also hosts The Great Simplification, a platform for systems-level conversations about society’s future. Previously, he worked in finance, served as Managing Editor of The Oil Drum, and taught at the University of Minnesota.

Career
Nate Hagens studied at University of Vermont (Ph.D. in Natural Resources) and University of Chicago (Master’s degree in Finance, with honors).
