About the role
Sell the next generation of security operations
Cotool is a SIEM and agent platform built for security teams. We bring together log storage and search, detections written in Python, and agents that write & tune detections, investigate alerts, hunt for threats, and respond to everything. Teams control how the agents work and where human judgment and approval belong. Teams at Ramp, EliseAI, ClickHouse, and Legora use Cotool.
We're hiring an Account Executive to own deals from first conversation to signed contract and help build our sales motion. You'll work with security engineers, detection engineers, and security leaders evaluating the platform they will rely on to defend their company.
What you'll do
- Build pipeline. Source opportunities through outbound, events, and your network. Find teams reconsidering their SIEM, struggling with detection coverage, or outgrowing the way they run security operations.
- Run discovery and demos. Understand a team's data, detections, investigation workflows, and existing tools. Show how Cotool brings those pieces together, and be precise about what the product does today.
- Lead technical evaluations. Agree on success criteria and scope a proof of concept using the customer's own logs, detections, and alerts. Own the evaluation plan and stakeholder alignment, partnering with our engineers on technical setup, validation, and migration requirements.
- Turn technical value into a purchase. Build a practitioner champion and involve the budget owner early. Make the business case around platform costs, detection coverage, and the work agents can take on. Own security review, procurement, legal, and the close.
- Build the sales process. Keep next steps clear and forecasts grounded in evidence. Bring objections and lost deals back to the founders and engineers, and turn what you learn into messaging and a playbook other reps can use.
Who will enjoy this
You've spent at least three years in full-cycle B2B sales, carried a closing quota, and beaten it. You've sourced a meaningful share of your own pipeline and can walk through the numbers and decisions behind your results.
You like selling to people who want to understand how a product works. You can follow a conversation about security logs, detections, APIs, and cloud infrastructure, ask useful questions, and recognize when to bring in an engineer. You've closed deals involving a practitioner champion, an executive buyer, and procurement and legal.
You want to help build the sales process as you run it. You're comfortable learning a changing product, testing a pitch, and revising your approach when a deal teaches you something. You use AI for research, preparation, and follow-through, and have opinions about where it helps and where it needs oversight.
Experience selling security, data infrastructure, or developer tools is especially relevant, but isn't required. Bring a deal you sourced and closed: how you found it, who you brought in, where it nearly died, and what you'd do differently.
The team and opportunity
We're on pace to grow 10x this year, supporting some of the fastest-growing technology companies as well as large traditional enterprises. The team ships every week, and you'll work directly with the founders and engineers to turn customer feedback into product improvements.
Our investors include Andreessen Horowitz, WndrCo, Y Combinator, and Homebrew. You'll have room to shape how we sell, take on more responsibility, and grow into leadership as the company grows.
If you enjoy earning a technical buyer's trust and helping teams change how they run security, we'd like to meet you.
About Cotool
Cotool builds AI agents and the security infrastructure they need to help cybersecurity teams keep up with attackers. Our mission is to scale defensive security with tokens: give security teams more capacity to detect threats, investigate alerts, and respond without growing headcount for every new workload.
Our platform brings together log search, detections written in code, automated investigations, response, and threat hunting. Agents work across a team's existing tools and data, with practitioners able to inspect the evidence, edit the logic, and decide where human approval belongs. Teams at Ramp, EliseAI, and ClickHouse use Cotool.
We're a small team in San Francisco backed by Andreessen Horowitz, WndrCo, Y Combinator, and Homebrew. We're hiring a generalist software engineer who wants to own problems from the first customer conversation through production. The work spans product interfaces, backend systems, agent behavior, and data infrastructure. You'll help decide what to build and carry it across the finish line.
If you enjoy learning unfamiliar domains, making thoughtful tradeoffs, and shipping tools that people rely on for real work, we'd love to meet you.
