A signal privately tells Crux AI you're interested. It is not a job application.
About the role
Built to set the gold standard for integrated AI infrastructure
Crux AI is a newly formed, U.S.-based integrated AI infrastructure company created to remove the physical and operational constraints on consequential AI ambitions. Crux brings together power, high-density data centers, TPU silicon, networking, orchestration software, and ongoing operations as one integrated system.
Crux is being capitalized to plan every layer together, develop each one to demanding standards, and operate the whole system with efficiency and reliability. That gives hyperscalers, frontier AI labs, sovereign customers, enterprises, and AI-native companies greater freedom to pursue the AI they are here to create.
You will build Crux's financial system of record. Sitting within Finance in the Accounting and Financial Reporting organization, you will lead the implementation of our ERP and own every finance system and data flow around it, from our first phase of capacity through a multi-gigawatt fleet. Crux will own billions of dollars of TPUs, networking, and data center equipment, and every dollar of it needs to move cleanly from purchase order to the general ledger, the fixed asset register, depreciation, and disposal.
This is a builder's seat: you will design the ledger, decide what to buy versus build, hire the team, and hold the bar for financial data that our auditors, lenders, sponsor, and executive team can trust.
You will work hand in hand with the Head of Operational Data (Single Source of Truth), who owns the company-wide operational database for hardware, sites, power, and project data. They own the physical and operational record. You own how it lands in the books.
In this role, you will:
Lead ERP and ancillary financial system implementation: requirements, vendor and systems integrator evaluation, chart of accounts and legal entity design, and a go-live plan that supports the month-end close from day one. After go-live, own the ERP as the financial system of record, as well as any ancillary systems that are part of the financial ecosystem.
Build the finance modules a capital-intensive company needs: procure-to-pay, project and construction-in-progress accounting, fixed assets and depreciation, lease accounting, customer billing and revenue, intercompany, and consolidation.
Own the purchase-order-to-ledger flow: capitalization, placed-in-service, depreciation, impairment, and disposal, with the fixed asset subledger reconciling automatically to the asset events the operational database provides.
Turn operational data into accounting entries: utility accruals, site and customer cost allocation, and the cost and margin inputs FP&A needs, built on reconciled feeds rather than manual rekeying.
Stand up finance reporting: close dashboards, fixed asset roll-forwards, flux analysis, and lender and sponsor reporting packages built on the ERP and utilizing AI to drive high efficiency workflows.
Design controls into the systems: audit trails, access controls, segregation of duties, and automated reconciliations that make Crux SOX-ready and keep the audit uneventful.
Build and lead the Finance Systems team across ERP administration, finance integrations, and finance reporting.
Partner closely with the Head of Operational Data on shared data standards and integrations; with Accounting and FP&A on close and reporting; with Treasury and Procurement Operations on payments and purchase orders; and with Strategic Supply on contract data.
SIGNALS OF SUCCESS
After 60 days in this role:
Gained an understanding of key components of Crux's business plan and operational and financial reporting expectations to drive appropriate systems decisions.
Joined the ongoing ERP discussions and driven decisions around a recommended platform, implementation partner, and timeline.
Set key guardrails with the Head of Operational Data on the domain of the systems andd interface between them: one asset identity, the chart of accounts and cost center mapping, and which events flow initially from operations into the ledger.
After 6 months:
Launched the ERP as the financial system of record, running the month-end close and chart of accounts, entities, and a fixed asset module configured for our first capacity.
Fixed asset subledger and utility accruals running on automated feeds from the operational database, with no manual rekeying.
Built hands-on, AI-enabled tools for reconciliation and close that the team uses every day.
After 1 year:
The close, fixed asset roll-forward, and lender and sponsor reporting run from the ERP, with a controls process that is SOX-ready.
Adding a new entity, site, or tranche of TPUs is a configuration change, not a project.
Built a lean Finance Systems team that partners well with the business as Crux grows.
EXPERIENCES, ATTRIBUTES AND MINDSET THAT INDICATES A GOOD MATCH
Experiences
15+ years across finance systems, ERP implementation, or accounting operations, including 7+ years leading finance systems teams.
Led at least one full ERP selection and implementation (for example NetSuite, Oracle Fusion, SAP S/4HANA, or Workday Financials) from requirements through go-live and first audit, at a company with significant fixed assets or construction activity.
Built fixed asset, CIP, and depreciation processes for hardware or infrastructure at scale.
Attributes
You are hands-on. You can configure the ERP, debug a failed integration, and then walk Accounting leadership and our auditors through the same issue. This is a builder's seat, not a supervisory one.
You speak both languages: capitalization policy and close timelines with Accounting, integrations and data quality with engineers.
You absorb ambiguity and navigate complexity rather than passing it along.
Mindset
You are skeptical by default. A number is a hypothesis until it reconciles. You build the system that makes the next audit boring.
You bring bad news first, unprompted, and own the result.
You are AI-agentic first, defaulting to agentic workflows before adding headcount or process.
Nice to have (Preferred, not required):
Finance systems leadership at a hyperscaler, a neocloud, or a capital-intensive operator such as a data center developer or utility.
Experience preparing a company for SOX compliance or an IPO, or supporting asset-backed financing and lender reporting.
CPA or CMA, or a technical degree paired with deep accounting fluency.
Salary Range Information
The annual salary range for this position has been estimated based on market data and other factors. However, a salary higher or lower than this range may be appropriate for a candidate whose qualifications differ meaningfully from those listed in the job description.
