About Us:
Greenjets is an innovative engineering company developing high-performance propulsion systems for the aviation market. Our work spans research and development, engine production, aircraft systems, technical integration, and flight testing. We are committed to delivering high-grade engineering and best-in-class propulsion for unmanned aircraft.
We do things differently. We move fast, we experiment, and we adopt technologies that push beyond the current state of the art. We aim to go further, faster and more efficiently, while keeping costs competitive.
All our propulsion systems are designed, developed and manufactured in the UK. We focus on high-quality, reliable and cost-effective products supported by a robust, secure and ethical supply chain.
About the Job:
You turn engineering decisions into flying prototypes, and ensure our test aircraft are ready to fly. You will build, integrate, maintain and repair small uncrewed aircraft in the workshop, and support flight operations alongside our pilots and test engineers. When something breaks at a range a long way from home, you are the one who gets it back in the air safely. Piloting skills are a bonus, but not a requirement.
What You'll Do:
Build, integrate, and configure test aircraft: airframes, motors, ESCs, batteries, flight controllers, radios, payloads, and instrumentation.
Carry out inspections, maintenance and repairs, including soldering, crimping, wiring harnesses and basic composite repairs.
Keep configuration, maintenance and flight logs accurate, so every flight is traceable to a known aircraft build.
Prepare and pack aircraft, spares, tools, batteries, and ground equipment for campaigns, including dangerous goods shipping of lithium batteries.
Run pre-flight and post-flight checks, set up the ground station and datalinks, and download and back up flight data.
Troubleshoot in the field and feed findings back to the engineering team.
Help set up and run our Munich workshop: tooling, storage, battery safety, and 5S.
What you’ll bring
A completed technical vocational qualification (e.g., Fluggerätmechaniker, Mechatroniker, Elektroniker) or equivalent hands-on experience.
4+ years building, maintaining, and supporting UAS.
Strong electronics and mechanical skills: clean soldering, wiring, and diagnosis with a multimeter.
Safe handling of LiPo and Li-ion batteries.
A love of travel. You are happy on the road, work well in a small field team, and stay calm when plans change.
Good English. German is a plus.
Eligibility for a German security clearance (Sicherheitsüberprüfung) and, where required, NATO clearance.
A valid passport and a class B driver's license (trailer license BE a plus).
Desirable Qualifications
FAA A&P, EASA Part-66, or other aircraft maintenance background.
IPC J-STD-001 or comparable soldering certification
IATA dangerous goods training.
UAS piloting experience through GCS and FPV.
Remote pilot certificates: EASA A1/A3, A2 CofC or STS, UK CAA GVC or FAA Part 107 certificate.
3D printing, CAD and/or composites fabrication.
