Summary

If you've spent a few years in traditional practice, you know the frustration: rigid schedules, administrative overload, and a model that often feels more like checkbox medicine than real patient care.

Curana is built differently.

Our physicians consistently say this is the best job they've ever had. That's not a talking point; it's what we hear directly from doctors who made the switch. Here, you get to practice medicine on your terms: setting your own schedule, managing your own patient flow, and spending your energy on the work that actually matters.

We're looking for physicians who are ready for a better model, one that restores the autonomy, ownership, and fulfillment that drew you to medicine in the first place.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

We're seeking a mission-driven Physician to join Curana Health and deliver high-quality, person-centered care across skilled nursing facilities and senior living communities. You'll be a trusted clinical leader for your patients, a mentor to APPs, and an advocate for the residents in your care, while enjoying a level of flexibility and independence that's genuinely rare in medicine today.

Full-Time or Part-Time Schedules Available

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based care by completing history and physicals on new patients and conducting routine rounding (minimum once per week).

• Partner with Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) to manage regulatory and complex patient visits, ensuring compliance and clinical excellence.

• Oversee APP performance, serving as a mentor and resource to elevate care delivery across your team.

• Close quality gaps when prompted, driving measurable improvements in patient outcomes.

• Serve as a trusted advocate for patients—championing what matters most to them.

• Represent Curana Health’s mission and values as a clinical leader and ambassador in the communities you serve.

Medical Directorship Opportunities

For physicians interested in taking on a greater leadership role, Curana offers Medical Directorship opportunities at our partner facilities. Medical Directors are clinical leaders who help shape the quality and culture of care at the facility level, working alongside facility leadership to drive better outcomes for residents.

As a Medical Director, you would:

• Oversee the clinical care delivered to facility residents and take accountability for quality outcomes.
• Lead clinical quality metric review, including attending monthly QAPI meetings, analyzing CASPER and RTA data, and addressing areas like polypharmacy, infection control, and antibiotic stewardship.
• Identify opportunities for improvement and contribute to Project Improvement Plans (PIPs).
• Mentor Curana-employed APPs, helping build a stronger, more consistent clinical team on the ground.
• Support facility leadership with regulatory compliance, including engaging with surveyors when needed to ensure state and federal guidelines are met.
• Help ensure that external attending physicians meet the quality and compliance standards of the facility.

Medical Directorships come with additional compensation and are a natural path for physicians seeking to expand their clinical leadership footprint without leaving patient care behind.

What Makes Curana Different

Flexibility that actually works. Curana is built to give physicians more control over how they structure their time. Our model is designed to reduce the operational friction that makes traditional practice feel rigid, so you can focus on patients without sacrificing your personal life. Physicians consistently tell us this flexibility is one of the biggest reasons they stay.

True clinical autonomy. You have meaningful control over how you round, how you manage patient flow, and how you structure your day. Less protocol-driven overhead, more room for real clinical judgment. It's a model built around how good physicians actually work.

Meaningful, complex work. Geriatric care is some of the most intellectually demanding and personally rewarding work in medicine. You're not treating a single condition, you're caring for the whole person, often navigating complexity that requires real clinical judgment. Physicians who are drawn to this specialty find it deeply fulfilling.

Infrastructure that supports you. Curana provides structured onboarding, ongoing training, and support teams that are actually responsive. You'll get help with charting, adapting to value-based care models, and everything else that typically slows physicians down. You have the autonomy of private practice without the isolation.

Data-driven tools built for your patients. AI-powered insights, smart communication platforms, and modern EMR integrations help you understand and manage your patient population more effectively, so you can focus on care, not catching up.
