Principal Engineer, Software Engineering 

 

The Global Test Engineering software development team designs and delivers innovative manufacturing automation solutions that enable Dells new product introduction strategy within Global Operations. Working at the cutting edge, we design and develop software that runs in a cloud-based manufacturing environment across Dells global manufacturing sites, delivering product diagnostic testing, customer software provisioning as well as customer configuration verification prior to shipping to customer sites — all with the most advanced technologies, tools, software engineering methodologies and the collaboration of internal and external partners.

Essential Requirements

• 8+ years of related experience 
• Advanced coding and debugging in core languages/frameworks (eg. Python). 
• Ability to deliver high-quality solutions that meet Dell’s manufacturing specifications.
• Demonstrates enthusiasm, initiative, and a hands-on approach, with the ability to rapidly acquire new skills and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

 

Desirable Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field 
• Experience in troubleshooting system level architectures (Software/hardware/Network/FW).

Compensation: Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary range for this position is $168,000-$210,000 (dependent on level).

 

 

 

You will: 

• Be responsible for designing and developing sophisticated manufacturing software solutions based on Dells manufacturing and product team requirements and business goals. 
• Work hands on with Dells portfolio of new products including rack-scale AI infrastructure solutions, through close collaboration with Dells product engineering teams.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and integration patterns as well as performing code reviews and upholding quality/cohesion.
• Work on a highly motivated agile software development team with an emphasis on innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
