Alice & Bob is developing the first universal, fault-tolerant quantum computer to solve the world’s hardest problems. The quantum computer we envision building is based on a new kind of superconducting qubit: the Schrödinger cat qubit 🐈‍⬛. In comparison to other superconducting platforms, cat qubits have the astonishing ability to implement quantum error correction autonomously!   We're a diverse team of 250+ brilliant minds from over 35 countries united by a single goal: to revolutionise computing with a practical fault-tolerant quantum machine. Are you ready to take on unprecedented challenges and contribute to revolutionising technology? Join us, and let's shape the future of quantum computing together!

About the role :

Nothing gets measured until a qubit is cooled to 10 millikelvin, wired, and instrumented — and you'll be the person who makes sure that chain never breaks. Between the chip and the measurement sits a full microwave chain: cold RF and DC wiring down the cryostat, attenuation and thermalization at every stage, then instrumentation and control racks at room temperature. That platform — our dilution cryostats and their measurement chains — is one of the company's most critical assets, and the Cryogenic & RF Platform Operations team owns it.

You'll lead that team: 7 engineers and technicians who run cooldown and warm-up cycles, modify cold and room-temperature RF and DC cabling on request, keep cryostats and instrumentation racks available and qualified, build new systems in-house, and act as the single entry point for our QPU design and characterization teams. Your mission is simple to state and hard to deliver: keep the platform available and reliable, because every hour it's down is an hour we're not measuring qubits.

Responsabilities

• Keep the platform running

  • Own the health and uptime of cryostats, wiring and instrumentation: preventive maintenance, corrective action, first-level troubleshooting
  • Run routine V&V on RF and DC instrumentation, characterize the signal path, and catch drift before it becomes a problem
  • Align with other team leads on RF and hardware architecture standards

  Run day-to-day operations

  • Plan and schedule the team's work against user requests and company iteration cycles
  • Jump in yourself on cooldown/warm-up cycles and cabling changes when the team needs the extra pair of hands
  • Build and maintain SOPs, manage stock, and keep supplier loops running (RF components, cryogenic consumables)

  Build and integrate new systems

  • Oversee in-house assembly, from cryostat builds to cabling, racks, and full system integration
  • Support the design teams through validation (test campaigns, V&V) and sign off on new systems before they enter production

  Lead and grow the team

  • Manage and develop a team of engineers and technicians: 1:1s, mentoring, hiring
  • Own the team's budget and drive continuous improvement

Requirements

Educational Background:

• A Master degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Production management — or equivalent experience.

Experience:

• 7+ years hands-on experience with RF/microwave measurement chains, cryogenic systems, test benches, or comparable critical experimental infrastructure — in industry, in a large research facility, or on a pilot line
• Real, practical command of RF instrumentation and signal chains (VNA or spectrum analyzer measurement, cabling integrity, troubleshooting) — the kind of experience where you've personally built, wired, debugged or commissioned a system
• Experience leading a technical team, or clear readiness to step into your first team lead role
• Strong planning instincts under real-world constraints (tool availability, maintenance windows, competing requests), and the pragmatism to make good calls with incomplete information
• Professional English; enough French to work day-to-day on-site, with French classes covered by the company if you want to build on it
•

Nice to have

• Experience with dilution refrigerators or sub-kelvin cryogenics
• Microwave measurement at low temperature, or exposure to quantum technologies
• Lean or operational excellence practice

Working conditions

The platform spans two sites in Île-de-France, Aubervilliers and Paris 15th, with regular travel between them (roughly 80% Aubervilliers, 20% Paris 15th). This is a hands-on, on-site role.

Recruitment process

• Screening Call with Alexandra Talent Acquisition Specialist (30 min)
• Hiring Manager Interview with Antoine, your future manager  (45 min)
• Technical case study on site (60 min) — prepared and presented on the day, nothing to do beforehand
• Leadership and Fit Interview (60 min)
