About the opportunity

Radiotherapy is used in the care of around half of all people with cancer, yet many patients experience side effects that significantly reduce quality of life. While emerging technologies can substantially reduce these effects, access is often limited by cost, complexity, or infrastructure.

The Image X Institute has been awarded a major Translational Program Grant to address this challenge by developing and translating scalable, low-cost radiotherapy and imaging innovations with the potential to improve outcomes and reduce inequities in cancer care.

We are seeking a Research Fellow/Senior Research Fellow - Program Coordination, Radiotherapy Innovations (Level B/C) to support the successful delivery of this ambitious, multi‑year research program. This role sits at the interface of academic leadership, research operations, and stakeholder engagement, and contributes directly to the Program’s long‑term impact goals. This role suits a researcher who combines strong organisational capability with experience in research programs and a commitment to translation and impact.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

• Manage the research program, develop and maintain program plans, milestones, meetings, schedules, and risk registers, liaise with key stakeholders
• Perform research in medical physics, working diligently to develop and translate scalable, low-cost radiotherapy and imaging innovations with the potential to improve outcomes and reduce inequities in cancer care. The duties may include:
  -clinical-trial involvement
  -algorithm development
  -data analysis
• Contribute to written materials, reports, presentations, and communications
• Mentor junior academic staff and students as necessary to achieve the program objectives.

About you:

• Ph.D. in a relevant discipline (e.g. Medical Physics, Radiology, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Medicine, or Engineering)
• Demonstrated experience or knowledge of one or more of the following:
  • computational algorithm development
  • medical imaging expertise
  • medical device development
