Management Consultant (Virtual Health Product)
Posted 4D AGO
🧬 Let's accelerate medical innovation
At Power, we're making clinical trials easy to navigate for all patients.
Today, patients look to promising medical research when standard treatments have failed them. Unfortunately, there is no single source of truth that patients can understand and trust. The status quo is a government run website which is written in complex medical jargon that is impossible for most people to navigate.
At the same time, clinical trials are the bottleneck on medical innovation—new medicine takes almost 10 years to test and over 86% of all clinical trials are delayed because they can't find enough patients. This is one of the biggest problems facing the life science industry.
Power is the easiest way for patients to access promising new studies. Thus helping more patients find treatments and speeding up the progress of medical research as we go.
🏹 The role
We’re looking for a Management Consultant (Virtual Health Product) for a defined two-year (24-month) engagement to evaluate and improve the management and operating processes supporting the launch and refinement of our virtual health screening product.
The product supports patient-eligibility assessment and provides structured feedback to clinic staff about errors or inconsistencies in their assessments. You’ll help us understand how it performs in practice, where clinic adoption gets difficult, and which operating practices will make the experience more accurate, consistent and useful.
Working with Power’s leadership, product and operations teams, and relevant clinical subject-matter experts, you’ll diagnose problems, develop practical recommendations, support pilots and evaluate results. The assignment has a specific endpoint: by the end of month 24, deliver a final evaluation and transfer the documented processes, training materials and recommendations to designated internal owners.
The proposed scope centers on consulting, project-specific implementation support and knowledge transfer. It is designed to establish practices that Power’s teams can sustain after the engagement ends.
🤔 Some of the problems we'll be working on
Over the two-year engagement, you’ll focus on five connected workstreams:
- Evaluate the product and diagnose screening workflows. Map how patient screening and clinic review happen today; analyze recurring assessment errors, handoffs and gaps in feedback; and recommend an evaluation framework covering accuracy, consistency, efficiency and clinic usability. Deliver an initial assessment and prioritized improvement recommendations, then use pilot findings to refine them.
- Assess clinic adoption and market readiness. Understand clinic needs, barriers to adoption, and onboarding and support processes. Evaluate the product’s commercial opportunity and recommend an adoption strategy, pilot structure and measures of success for leadership consideration.
- Design and refine operating processes. Develop proposed procedures for reviewing screening outcomes, escalating questions, incorporating clinic feedback and deciding on process changes. Support implementation within the defined pilots, analyze results and recommend refinements.
- Develop staff feedback and coaching processes. Recommend a structured way to identify assessment mistakes, explain the basis of feedback, guide corrective learning and measure improvement. Prepare feedback and training materials for review by designated company and clinical subject-matter experts, then refine them using pilot experience.
- Complete documentation and handover. Document the agreed processes, explain them to designated internal owners, and deliver a final evaluation and recommendations for continued refinement before the two-year engagement concludes.
📅 Proposed two-year plan
The following sequence translates the engagement into defined phases and deliverables:
- Months 1–3 — Assessment and baseline. Map current workflows, analyze assessment errors and adoption barriers, establish baseline measures, and deliver an initial assessment with prioritized improvement opportunities.
- Months 4–9 — Process and evaluation design. Develop the recommended evaluation framework, operating procedures, clinic adoption and pilot plans, and staff feedback and training materials for review.
- Months 10–18 — Pilot support, analysis and refinement. Support successive clinic pilots, assess performance against the baseline and agreed success measures, and recommend changes to workflows, onboarding and feedback processes.
- Months 19–24 — Validation, documentation and handover. Evaluate the refined processes, complete documentation and knowledge transfer, and present the final findings and recommendations to leadership and designated internal owners.
Completion at month 24: a final evaluation, documented operating and feedback processes, reviewed training materials, and a completed handover that enables internal teams to carry the work forward.
🎯 About you
- You bring strong management analysis skills and experience evaluating or improving health-services or virtual-health workflows.
- You’re comfortable combining interviews, process mapping and quantitative analysis to diagnose a problem and explain what should change.
- You can assess clinic needs and commercial opportunities, turn findings into practical recommendations, and define useful measures of success.
- You have experience supporting pilots or implementation projects, evaluating results and refining your recommendations as you learn.
- You communicate clearly with clinic staff, clinical subject-matter experts, product teams and company leadership.
- You understand how structured feedback, instruction or coaching can help people learn from mistakes and improve performance.
- You can drive a defined project independently, collaborate across functions, and leave behind documentation and knowledge that others can use.
🌟 Nice to haves
- Management education, such as an MBA, and health-related education in kinesiology, health sciences or a related field.
- Experience with government virtual-health programs, clinic adoption or health-services process improvement.
- Experience designing training, coaching or performance-feedback approaches.
- Familiarity with marketplace businesses, clinical research or health technology more broadly.
- A personal connection to the space: much of our team has close family or friends who’ve interacted with clinical research from the patient perspective.
- Some other unique strength that would round us out! We’re always looking for complementary skills and experiences.
🔎 The product
Power is the most patient-friendly marketplace resource for clinical trials.
- Comprehensive: we make it easy to search across every trial in North America so patients never feel like they have blind spots
- Simple: we apply a healthy amount of data engineering and empathy to the reams of unstructured medical data on clinical trials to simplify things for patients that are trying to evaluate potential trials
- Connected: we help patients proactively reach out to the researchers directly and researchers love connecting with motivated patients
✉️ If this sounds like your kind of adventure

🔎 FAQ
How long is this engagement? This is a defined two-year (24-month) engagement from the agreed start date. The work concludes with a final evaluation, recommendations and handover to designated internal owners by the end of month 24. Exact start and end dates will be specified in the engagement agreement.
What is the culture like at Power? Our team rallies around five values: urgency, selflessness, agency, obsession, and “these values will change”. To this last point, prior to our Series A we were focused on ‘pragmatism’ rather than ‘obsession.’
“How do I know if Power is too (early / late)-staged for me?”While we clearly have product market fit, we’re still much building out large parts of the business. This means that Power is probably too early for you if you’re hoping to primarily follow a script, facilitate an existing process, or look for a series of 5% wins in any given domain.
That said, we’ve reached a point where no one is doing everything anymore. As a result Power is probably too late for you if you don’t have a craft you’re excited to continue to perfect.
Where are you located? What's your approach to remote work? The work location and in-person expectations for this two-year engagement will be confirmed in the engagement agreement.
What are the requirements? Do I need certain years of experience, or a background in healthcare? We’re looking for the combination of management analysis, health-services experience and practical communication described above. You should be comfortable independently assessing a problem, explaining your recommendations, and collaborating with internal teams to test them.
How is the work life balance? We trust team members to manage their own schedules and believe that taking time off to recharge makes you more productive in the long run.
That said, we’re early enough that everyone’s work makes a big difference on the company’s trajectory. As a result, our team finds hard work fulfilling when we know it will be impactful.
Typically, we check out around 6pm to protect family time and then log-in later to finish anything that was left undone.
How are you funded?Happy to share specifics but we've raised a large Series A from top investors. We've intentionally raised enough such that we have time to get from our current clear signs of product market fit to sizeable scale.
How does your interview process work? This depends on the role, but roughly there are two stages. Initially meet with one or two members of your peers, and another with one or both founders. We try to move quickly on decisions so as not to waste anyone’s time.
Do you have benefits?Benefits for this engagement will be confirmed alongside the employment arrangement and compensation.
What’s your vacation policy?Time-off terms for this engagement will be confirmed in the engagement agreement.
