ICON is seeking a highly organized, operationally adept Field Inventory Manager II to own the full lifecycle of company tools, equipment, and operational assets across our field print operations. As ICON scales deployments of the Titan print system nationwide, this role ensures every project mobilizes with the right equipment, assets are tracked and recovered with precision, and capital investments are protected through disciplined inventory management.
You will oversee tool crib operations, project deployment logistics, asset tracking, preventative maintenance coordination, and the company-wide asset recovery program. Working independently, with review at key milestones, you will diagnose the root causes of equipment loss and readiness gaps and influence senior leaders across Field Operations, Project Management, Procurement, and Print Systems on equipment strategy, to maximize readiness, reduce loss, and drive cost efficiency.
This position is based at ICON’s Austin, TX campus and reports to the Manager, Inventory.

- Pull, stage, and prepare tools, equipment, and deployment materials for project mobilization; coordinate closely with project managers and operations leadership to ensure full equipment readiness prior to deployment.
- Evaluate returned equipment condition and determine the right course of action (repair, redeploy, replace, retire) based on cost, lifecycle, and project demand.
- Maintain a centralized asset management system tracking all company tools, equipment, and operational assets by location, condition, assignment, and lifecycle status.
- Assign and manage asset tags, barcodes, or RFID tracking for all equipment; enforce tagging and check-in/check-out discipline across the organization.
- Assess competing project demands and make allocation and redistribution decisions, adapting plans when pipeline or schedule information is incomplete or changing.
- Forecast equipment needs from the project pipeline and historical precedent, adjust allocation plans as actuals diverge, and coordinate procurement with leadership and Procurement.
- Maintain inventory levels of essential tools, consumables, and operational supplies; conduct regular cycle counts and full inventory audits.
- Implement and manage preventative maintenance schedules for applicable tools and equipment; coordinate repairs with internal teams and external vendors and maintain repair history records.
- Lead the company-wide asset recovery program as the single point of accountability: retrieve tools and equipment from completed jobsites, audit recovery results, and analyze loss metrics to identify root causes and adjust the approach.
- Analyze loss rates, utilization, and lifecycle cost to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records of asset assignments, inventory levels, and equipment movement; provide leadership with regular reporting on asset utilization, inventory accuracy, and cost savings initiatives.
- Ensure all equipment meets company safety requirements; maintain documentation for inspections, certifications, and compliance records.
- Partner with and advise Field Operations, Project Management, Procurement, and Print Systems leadership on equipment readiness, tradeoffs, and cost, adapting communication style to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Resolve unusual or non-standard inventory and asset discrepancies independently, escalating at critical decision points.
- Advise field and cross-functional teams on tagging, tracking, and inventory best practices.
