About Re:Build

At Re:Build, our mission is to ensure the next generation of important products are made, at scale, in America. We are laying the foundation for a better future for our customers, employees, and communities by revitalizing America's manufacturing base and creating meaningful jobs across the country, including in historically deindustrialized regions.

We operate an advanced, end-to-end manufacturing platform that partners with industrial companies and innovators to take products from first concept to full-scale production in critical verticals including aerospace and defense, electrification, medical, energy and environment, and robotics and automation.

The way we operate is as important as the work we do. It's guided by The Re:Build Way, 16 principles that shape how we collaborate with each other, partner with our customers and vendors, and contribute to the communities where we operate. (link to The Re:Build Way principles)

Who We Are Looking For

You're an early-career mechanical engineer eager to build real skills on the machines that make things happen. Whether you're a recent graduate with proven internship or co-op experience or you have a few years of machine design work behind you, you're motivated to learn from expert engineers and grow into increasing responsibility over time.

You enjoy the technical work—turning ideas into 3D models and detailed drawings, running calculations to make sure a design holds up, and solving problems methodically. You're comfortable asking questions, curious about emerging methods and tools, and you take safety seriously whether you're at your desk, in a fabrication shop, or on a client site. If you value continuous learning and collaboration, this is a strong place to start your career.

What You Get To Do

• Design and develop mechanical machine components and assemblies with guidance from senior engineers, contributing from concept through completion.
• Create and modify 3D models and 2D drawings in SolidWorks.
• Perform engineering calculations and design analysis to ensure technical accuracy.
• Prepare and maintain drawing sets and design documentation.
• Participate in design reviews, incorporate feedback, and help identify and report safety risks.
• Research technical challenges and propose solutions with support from experienced engineers.
• Learn and apply company design standards and engineering guidelines.
• Support HSE initiatives and promote a strong safety culture across every project phase.
• Collaborate across teams, vendors, and clients, and travel occasionally to project sites.

What You Bring To The Team

Required

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related field) or equivalent experience.
• 1–5 years of machine design experience with exposure to industrial automation elements such as custom tooling, robots, servos, and position- or presence-sensing equipment. New graduates with relevant internship or co-op experience considered.
• 1+ years of SolidWorks experience.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and mathematical skills (statistics, algebra, calculus).
• Good written and verbal communication skills, including with non-technical audiences.
• Proficiency in English and a developing ability to interpret PFDs, P&IDs, and similar documentation.
• A strong commitment to safety and a proactive approach to recognizing hazards.

Preferred

• Exposure to SolidWorks FEA and CFD tools.
• EIT certification or progress toward a P.E. license.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001, Lean, Six Sigma, or similar quality/continuous improvement systems.
• Familiarity with project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Deltek Vision), OSHA regulations, or additional languages.

The base salary range for this position is $65,000– $100,000 per year. This range represents the Company’s good faith estimate of the base compensation for this role at the time of posting.  Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, skills, qualifications, internal equity, and geographic location.
