👋 About Us

sunday is building the fastest, simplest way to pay in restaurants. With a quick scan of a QR code, diners can pay, tip, and leave in about 10 seconds. We believe great products should feel obvious, not complicated, and we focus relentlessly on keeping things simple while earning trust from restaurants and guests at every interaction. Today, sunday powers payments in thousands of restaurants across the US, UK, and France, helping operators turn tables faster, increase tips, and unlock valuable insights. We push ourselves to go beyond what’s expected, building with ownership, moving fast, and scaling with ambition as we tackle our biggest growth opportunity in the US.

About the Role

As Founder's Associate, Data & AI, you will work within sunday's CEO Office, alongside the CEO, Chief of Staff and senior leadership team.

This isn't a role for someone who runs reports and waits for the next brief. You'll be the person who sees (or finds) a business problem, builds the data story behind it, designs an AI-powered solution, ships it, and scales it. You'll be shaping how sunday thinks about AI at the company level, and driving us to become a genuinely AI-native company.

This is a full-time position for someone with 1 to 3 years of experience. VIE is open for eligible candidates, but the role is not limited to the VIE programme.

VIE Eligibility Disclaimer

This position is offered under the French Volontariat International en Entreprise (VIE) program and is therefore subject to the eligibility criteria and regulations applicable to the VIE scheme. Candidates must meet the eligibility requirements defined by Business France, including nationality, age, residency and administrative conditions. Final eligibility will be confirmed as part of the VIE application process.

Please, find here all the eligibility criteria and regulations from Business France.

Join early, grow fast, and shape the journey!

Key Responsibilities

• Be the CEO Office's analytical backbone: Build dashboards on Metabase or Salesforce, pull data, and run ad-hoc analyses on demand: fast, accurate, and always actionable.

• Drive sunday's AI strategy: Scout the competitive landscape, identify AI-native processes we should implement, and think like a founder building a company around AI, not a consultant advising one.

• Educate our two CEOs on AI and data: Make complex topics clear and actionable for Victor and the team, from model developments to the tools we should be using right now.

• Connect data to business problems: Work across adoption, sales velocity, and operational efficiency to identify where AI-powered insight can move the needle most.

• Build end-to-end solutions: When you spot a problem, don't flag it, fix it. Vibe-code a solution from scratch, test it, and scale it when validated.

• Iterate fast, break things, innovate: Test ideas quickly, learn from what doesn't work, and never let perfect be the enemy of progress.

About You

Must-haves:

• You graduated from a top-tier university with strong academic results.

• You have 1 to 3 years of experience in a demanding, fast-paced environment. This could include: A top-tier consulting firm, A high-growth Series A to C startup, Banking, investment or financial services

• Strong command of SQL, Python, Looker, Metabase, and ideally Salesforce, you build dashboards and structured data outputs without needing help.

• Comfortable with AI coding tools like Cursor, you build solutions end-to-end, autonomously, from idea to shipped product.

• A genuine interest in AI and its practical applications in business.

• You seek granular insights: when something is off, your first reflex is to dive deeper, not summarize.

• You are deeply entrepreneurial: you see a problem and your instinct is to fix it, not report it.

• You have a relentless bias for action, you move fast, follow through, and get things done without waiting for perfect conditions.

• You push through resistance: you're energized by the challenge of bringing AI thinking to people who are skeptical or not yet AI-native.

Nice-to-haves:

• Exposure to the hospitality or restaurant tech industry.

• Interest in competitive intelligence or product strategy.

• Experience building automations, internal tools or AI-powered workflows.
