Teamwork makes the stream work.
Roku is changing how the world watches TV
Roku is the #1 TV streaming platform in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, and we've set our sights on powering every television in the world. Roku pioneered streaming to the TV. Our mission is to be the TV streaming platform that connects the entire TV ecosystem. We connect consumers to the content they love, enable content publishers to build and monetize large audiences, and provide advertisers unique capabilities to engage consumers.
From your first day at Roku, you'll make a valuable - and valued - contribution. We're a fast-growing public company where no one is a bystander. We offer you the opportunity to delight millions of TV streamers around the world while gaining meaningful experience across a variety of disciplines.
About the team
As the primary operational relationship layer between Roku and its Tier 1 content and development partners, we launch, grow, and sustain best-in-class streaming apps across the app lifecycle, from onboarding to EOL. We equally protect Roku’s platform integrity and monetization objectives and advocate for the best viewer experience, while helping partners reach and retain Roku viewers globally.
Partner Engagement collaborates closely with cross-functional teams within Roku, including Content Distribution, Business Development, Commerce, Advertising, Product, and Engineering.
About the role
You will own a portfolio of partners across the UK, Ireland, France, Germany, Austria and other EU markets: public service and commercial broadcasters, subscription streaming services, pay-TV operators, and the third-party development agencies that build their apps. In Europe, you will work alongside Partner Engineering, Roku’s technical team for partners, including a Senior Partner Engineer based in London, who owns technical diagnosis and sign-off while you own the relationship, launch plan and incident communication.
This external-facing role needs strong technical fluency, product sense, alongside excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Level: Senior individual contributor, with no direct reports.
Reports to: Director, Partner Engagement, based in New York.
Location and travel: Based in London, in the office Monday to Thursday, with travel of up to 40% across the UK and Europe.
Expected Impact: Partners’ apps in the UK and Europe launch on Roku on schedule and stay healthy after launch, Tier 1 tentpole events run without partner-visible incidents, and partners adopt new Roku platform features and follow Roku’s roadmap recommendations.
- Discovery and Retention feature adoption rates
- Quality of Experience (QoE) scores at launch
- Partner satisfaction scores
What you’ll be doing
- Own partner relationships: Build trust and strategic relationships within the assigned partner’s account organizations. Act as the primary point of contact for partner’s business and product stakeholders to help partner’s manage technical risks, launch, distribute and evolve their product (partner direct-to-customer app) roadmap on the Roku platform.
- Manage partner’s app lifecycle: Run each partner’s product launch plans and timeline from onboarding through certification, launch and post-launch operations. Roku’s certification team runs the review, and the Partner Engineer signs-off technical readiness; you keep the timeline, risks and communication on track.
- Stakeholder Management: Work cross-functionally across partner’s and Roku’s business, product and engineering organizations to help partner deliver the best content viewing experience globally on the Roku platform, while improving Roku platform integrity and monetization objectives.
- Shape the partner agreement: Work with Business Development and Legal so that technical and operational requirements are reflected in partner agreements.
- Lead tentpole event response: Serve as the on-call escalation point for Tier 1 partner tentpole events in the region (which can mean occasional work outside normal hours), triaging incidents by severity and impact, coordinating the cross-functional response (bringing in Partner Engineering for technical diagnosis) and communicating with the partner.
- Go-To-Market, Partner Feedback & Competitive Benchmarking: Drive go-to-market (GTM) activities to drive adoption of partner facing features delivered by the Roku platform, collect partner feedback, benchmark Roku vs competitive platform performance to help establish Roku as the preferred platform of choice for partners to distribute and monetize their content globally.
What we're looking for
Required qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in partner or account management, or technical program management, with a track record of leading highly visible partner- or customer-facing projects to business outcomes, and of driving schedules, roadmaps and deliverables with partners.
- Experience working directly with product or engineering teams, with demonstrable contributions and a clear view of the business outcomes your work drove.
- Working technical knowledge of OTT video delivery: streaming file formats, DRM and digital ad insertion, plus an understanding of platforms, APIs and QA or certification processes. You do not need to debug apps, but you need to be credible with partner engineers.
- Ability to discuss the streaming business with confidence, including partners, monetization and competitors.
- Influence and leadership: a track record of bringing partners and internal teams along, including when they disagree, and of explaining complex problems simply to non-technical stakeholders.

What should I know about Roku's culture?
Roku is a great place for people who want to work in a fast-paced environment where everyone is focused on the company's success rather than their own. We try to surround ourselves with people who are great at their jobs, who are easy to work with, and who keep their egos in check. We appreciate a sense of humor. We believe a fewer number of very talented folks can do more for less cost than a larger number of less talented teams. We're independent thinkers with big ideas who act boldly, move fast and accomplish extraordinary things through collaboration and trust. In short, at Roku you'll be part of a company that's changing how the world watches TV.
We have a unique culture that we are proud of. We think of ourselves primarily as problem-solvers, which itself is a two-part idea. We come up with the solution, but the solution isn't real until it is built and delivered to the customer. That penchant for action gives us a pragmatic approach to innovation, one that has served us well since 2002.
