Inventory Specialist

Boston · Cambridge · Full time · Posted 1H AGO

Here at Humanoid, we believe in a future where robots amplify human potential. That’s why we’ve set out on a mission to build the world’s most capable, commercially-scalable, and safe humanoid robots. We’re bringing that mission to life with HMND‑01 - our rapidly developed humanoid platform being deployed in real industrial environments - and we’re growing the team to take it even further.

About the Role

As our Inventory Specialist, you'll make sure our engineers always have the right parts, in the right place, at the right time. You'll own inventory and procurement for the hardware side of a small, fast-moving team of around 30 engineers building cutting-edge humanoid robots. This is a hands-on, highly visible role for someone who loves keeping things organized and wants to grow with a robotics company at an early, exciting stage.

What You'll Do
  • Own engineering inventory: Track, receive, and restock components, consumables, tools, and equipment. Set and maintain reorder thresholds so the team never gets blocked by a missing part.

  • Kit parts for builds and repairs: Prepare accurate, organized kits for engineering builds, prototypes, and repairs.

  • Manage receiving and shipping: Coordinate inbound deliveries, inspect and log incoming materials, and organize outbound shipments, returns, and RMAs.

  • Keep storage organized: Maintain a clean, labeled, ESD-safe storage system for components, PCBAs, cables, and equipment. Run regular cycle counts and audits.

  • Maintain inventory systems: Keep inventory data accurate in our tracking tools, and help improve the process as we scale.

  • Support the team: Help with lab upkeep and safety, equipment tracking, and the occasional demo setup or shipment.

What We're Looking For
  • Demonstrated experience managing physical inventory: receiving, tracking, cycle counting, reorder thresholds, and vendor coordination, in a lab, warehouse, makerspace, or production environment

  • Experience with purchasing or procurement, including working with suppliers and distributors

  • Familiarity with inventory or component management tools or systems

  • Comfort handling and organizing electronic components, PCBAs, cables, and lab equipment

  • Working knowledge of ESD handling protocols for sensitive electronic components and assemblies

  • Strong attention to detail and a natural tendency to keep things organized and documented

  • Strong communication skills and comfort working closely with technical teams

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities in a fast-moving environment

Ability to lift and carry equipment and materials up to 40 lbs as part of regular duties

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience in an electronics, engineering, or hardware lab (through work or school)

  • Experience with PLM or ERP tools, such as Teamcenter or Arena

  • Experience with basic soldering, rework, or electronics assembly

  • Exposure to robotics, electromechanical systems, or a hardware startup

  • Comfort using Notion, Jira, or similar tools for tracking and documentation

What We Offer
  • Comprehensive health coverage for US‑based employees, including fully paid medical, dental, and vision insurance, with virtual care and employee assistance resources.

  • Meaningful time off to rest and recharge: 23 days of PTO (accrued), separate sick leave, and paid company holidays.

  • 401(k) retirement plan with 4% employer match.

  • Competitive equity: stock options with meaningful upside as we scale.

  • Free daily catered lunch, snacks, and drinks in‑office.

  • Collaboration with top‑tier engineers, researchers, and product experts in AI and robotics.

  • Freedom to influence the product and own key initiatives.
