DevOps Engineer (Hybrid Cloud development)

The Opportunity

One of our main solutions is the Nutanix Hybrid Multi-Cloud, which provides customers with an ability to run their applications in a place of their choice. Customers have the flexibility to choose where they want to host their applications and data - either in a private datacentre, public cloud, or both, while using a single Nutanix platform to manage it all in one place.  

You will be a part of the team that works on overall operational management of NC2 platform which includes components/services across multiple public clouds. This is a great opportunity as you will be using the latest tech, working on our own product that is one of the extremely rare ones in the market that supports multiple Clouds (AWS, Azure).   

NC2 Operations team at Nutanix

NC2 Operations team is led by Narendra Kumar, Engineering Manager, who has 15+ years of experience in the industry. The NC2 Operations team is responsible to architect, deploy, and maintain the all of NC2 infra requires for us to operations NC2 services at scale reliably and safely. Systems (and process) that we build ought to be robust, highly available, high performing, secure, and run on a large scale. The infrastructure we manage is hosted across public cloud(s) and used by NC2 customers daily.

NC2 Operations is a small team of experts that strive to build solutions using cutting edge technologies. We are looking for engineers who are excited by the idea of working in a team with diverse responsibilities ranging from – DevOps, SecOps and FinOps. Someone who likes solving complex challenges and looks for bigger picture, would be a great fit.

Your Role

• Design scalable, highly available infrastructure across multiple cloud providers and make it resilient to outages in the Cloud.
• Analyse requirements and in coordination with other team members propose the best solution and work on implementation.
• Automate deployments of various NC2 managed services which run across public cloud providers - AWS and Azure.
• Work on further enhancement of the deployment engine whose primary role is to automate and provide a smooth deployment execution.
• Prepare and do production deployments. Make sure it is executed safely. 
• Work on monitoring systems and logging infra. Define dashboards and alerts which are going to notify in time when something is misbehaving in the platform.

What You Will Bring

• 3+ years of experience as a System/DevOps working with public Cloud (AWS, Azure)
• Continuous integration/delivery concepts and tools (Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub Actions etc.)
• Configuration management tools (Ansible, chef, puppet etc.)
• Provisioning tools (Terraform and/or AWS CloudFormation)
• ​​Containerization concepts, experience with Docker and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes
• Deep Linux knowledge
• Experience with interpreted or scripting languages (Python, Bash etc.)
• Knowledge of Golang is a plus 
• Team player who is excited to share ideas and problems, and quickly processes feedback.

Work Arrangement

Hybrid: This role operates in a hybrid capacity, blending the benefits of remote work with the advantages of in-person collaboration. In locations where our workplace policy applies (i.e. San Jose, Durham, Mexico City, Bangalore, Pune, Hoofddorp, Belgrade, Barcelona, Singapore, Sydney and Tokyo), employees are expected to work onsite a minimum of 3 days per week to foster collaboration, team alignment, and access to in-office resources.
