Job Description:

About the Team:

Dow Jones Energy delivers trusted price transparency, benchmarks, analytics, news, and insights across the global energy, chemicals, metals, and fuel supply value chains. Our offerings support institutional investors, analysts, and traders navigating spot, wholesale, and retail markets, as well as emerging segments tied to the global energy transition.

Through authoritative data, real-time intelligence, and deep market expertise, Dow Jones Energy enables financial professionals to mitigate risk and make high-stakes commercial decisions in volatile, fast-evolving global markets.

About the Role:

As Vice President - Head of Consulting, you will lead Dow Jones Energy’s bespoke solutions business across both public and private sector markets — owning its strategy, proposition, commercial performance, and external profile. In this role, you will combine commercial leadership with operational rigor and a strong external presence, scaling a professional services practice that translates the analytical depth of Dow Jones Energy data and insights into high-impact engagements for corporate, government, and multilateral clients. You will report to the Senior Vice President - Head of Research, Consulting & Community.

You Will:

• Design and execute the growth strategy for the Energy Consulting business, setting clear commercial, brand, and delivery targets
• Ensure the consulting team meets or exceeds business development and growth targets
• Drive the evolution and scaling of the consulting practice — its operating model, talent and delivery capabilities
• Own the business with a relentless focus on customer value, output quality, business margin, expert utilization, and delivery efficiency across every engagement
• Design, champion, and continuously evolve the Energy Consulting value proposition, articulating differentiated offerings that capitalize on Dow Jones Energy’s expertise across energy, chemicals and resources, as well as the broader Dow Jones capability suite
• Serve as a senior external face of the business — representing Dow Jones Energy on stage, on air, and in print to shape how clients and the broader market understand global energy and chemical market dynamics
• Partner with Sales, Marketing, Product, Research and Community leadership within Dow Jones Energy to translate our analytical depth into commercially successful consulting engagements
• Support business development and consulting operations with travel to all regions up to 40% of time

You Have:

• 20+ years’ experience in the energy, chemical, or commodity consulting space
• A track record of leading an advisory business of $20M+ in revenue with full P&L accountability and proven topline and margin growth
• Experience presenting at industry conferences on panels and to groups of c-suite decision makers
• Proven experience scaling a professional services business — building delivery models, talent pipelines, and operating discipline that enable durable, profitable growth
• Experience delivering advisory work for both public sector (government, defense, multilateral) and private sector (corporate, financial) clients
• Knowledge of and familiarity with key players and competitors in the energy and chemical consulting space
• Demonstrated ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams
• History of successful stakeholder management at executive levels
