About the role:

Qedma is looking for a Senior Backend Software Engineer to build and scale the software infrastructure powering our quantum computing solutions.

In this role, you'll work on the core foundations of our platform, developing services that run across cloud and on-premises environments, managing distributed workflows, and integrating with cutting-edge quantum hardware.

You'll take ownership of key backend components, from APIs and orchestration services to deployment pipelines and production infrastructure. You'll collaborate with talented engineers, leading researchers, and global technology partners, to deliver reliable, scalable software used by research centers and data centers worldwide.

• Design, develop, and maintain core backend services and APIs.
• Build and optimize distributed workflows and job orchestration systems.
• Develop and maintain cloud-native infrastructure and services running across cloud and on-premises environments.
• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines, containerized deployments, and infrastructure automation.
• Integrate our software with leading quantum computing platforms and hardware providers.
• Take end-to-end ownership of features and services, from design and implementation through deployment and production operations.
• Collaborate with engineers, researchers, and external technology partners to solve complex technical challenges.

• 5+ years of professional experience developing backend systems, including at least 2 years with Python.
• Strong backend engineering skills, including API design, distributed systems, and relational databases.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with AWS or another major cloud provider.
• Ability to design, implement, and maintain reliable, scalable, and secure production systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills, independent ownership, and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
