About Marvell

Marvell’s semiconductor solutions are the essential building blocks of the data infrastructure that connects our world. Across enterprise, cloud and AI, and carrier architectures, our innovative technology is enabling new possibilities.

At Marvell, you can affect the arc of individual lives, lift the trajectory of entire industries, and fuel the transformative potential of tomorrow. For those looking to make their mark on purposeful and enduring innovation, above and beyond fleeting trends, Marvell is a place to thrive, learn, and lead.

This is an existing vacancy.

Your Team, Your Impact

Our team is focused on Advanced Technologies within Central Engineering organization, providing the most advanced and key IPs to all businesses within Marvell. Our team makes an outsized impact not only for the organization but also to the technological arc of innovation for future generations of Marvell's high-speed wireline and optical products.

What You Can Expect

As our DSP & Systems Intern, you will work on systems-level problems that sit at the boundary of research and production — where the algorithms and architectures you develop have direct consequences for how AI infrastructure performs at scale. Specifically, you can expect to:

  • Architect, model, and evaluate system-level designs for electrical/optical interconnects — developing analytical models and simulations that inform real silicon architecture decisions

  • Develop and optimize DSP algorithms for high-speed electrical or optical links, including equalization adaptation, calibration, timing recovery, and signal integrity techniques for both electrical and optical links

  • Collaborate with analog, digital, photonics, and firmware engineering teams to validate architectural assumptions against real hardware and silicon measurements

  • Build behavioral models and simulations in MATLAB or Python to evaluate performance tradeoffs

  • Present architectural proposals and algorithm results to engineering leadership and contribute to internal technical documentation and design reviews

What We're Looking For

  • Currently enrolled in a Ph.D. Or M.Sc. program in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with research focused on optical/electrical interconnects, digital signal processing, or communication systems.
  • Strong foundation in signal processing, communication theory, control systems, optimization, or system architecture, with the ability to apply theoretical concepts to practical engineering problems.
  • Research or project experience in one or more of the following areas: high-speed communications, DSP algorithm development, optical communications, SerDes systems, signal integrity, equalization, clock and data recovery, or system-level architecture.
  • Experience developing models and simulations using MATLAB, Python, C/C++, or similar tools to evaluate complex system behavior and performance tradeoffs.
  • Self-motivated, curious, and able to work effectively in a collaborative environment spanning DSP, analog, digital, photonics, firmware, and systems engineering disciplines.

Expected Base Pay Range (CAD)

45 - 61, $ per hour.
