Experience: 2 years or more
Quality Engineer (Plant + Supplier Quality)
Job Summary
This is a high-impact, critical role at the core of how we build reliable products, and we are intentionally looking for top-tier talent—someone who goes beyond execution to shape systems and outcomes, operates with high ownership and strong engineering judgment, and can build robust quality processes from the ground up. You will own end-to-end quality across the entire product lifecycle—from early design and supplier development to stable mass production and field performance—ensuring that quality is built into the product and process, not inspected in later.
What You’ll Do
- Drive incoming, in-process, and end-of-line quality with a zero-defect mindset, ensuring robust controls at every stage
- Lead supplier quality (SQA/SQE): onboarding, capability assessment, development, PPM ownership, and strong 8D closures
- Define QAP, CTQs, FTG, and inspection methods before RFQ, ensuring risks are identified and controlled upfront
- Ensure PPAP reflects true production readiness—validated processes, stable capability, and consistent output (not just documentation)
- Own post-PPAP quality: line issues, field failures, and elimination of repeat problems through systemic fixes
- Set up and scale the QC lab—measurement systems, calibration processes, and inspection frameworks aligned with production needs
- Design and develop QC fixtures for fast, repeatable, and reliable inspection of critical dimensions
- Apply strong material understanding (metals, heat treatment, coatings, etc.) to validate specifications, detect risks, and ensure performance in real-world conditions
- Work closely with design & manufacturing teams to catch risks early (tolerance stack-ups, material selection, application conditions) and drive design-for-quality
What You’ll Work On
- Precision hardware that actually ships — gears, motor components, and assemblies where microns matter and mistakes show up in the field
- Measurement systems that define reality — from handheld gauges to CMMs and gear measurement setups, ensuring what you measure truly reflects part performance
- Supplier capability building — turning vendors into reliable manufacturing partners through process validation, audits, and hands-on problem solving
- Quality systems that scale — control plans, PFMEA, SPC, and PPAP that aren’t just documents, but tools that prevent failures
- Inspection methods & fixtures — designing fast, repeatable ways to check critical dimensions without slowing production
- Deep problem solving — breaking down failures across design, material, and process to eliminate issues at the root, not just contain them
- Cross-functional engineering challenges — working at the intersection of design, manufacturing, and suppliers to make products robust from day one
What We’re Looking For
- 2–6 years in manufacturing / quality / supplier quality roles
- Strong hands-on experience with measurement systems and inspection techniques
- Experience with PPAP, APQP, supplier quality, and process capability (Cp/Cpk)
- Good understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and their impact on product performance and quality
- Comfortable working across shopfloor, supplier sites, and cross-functional design discussions
- Background in automotive / EV / motors / gearboxes preferred
- Bonus: experience building or scaling QC labs, inspection systems, or supplier quality processes
Why This Role
- 🚀 High ownership: You own quality decisions that directly impact product performance and customer experience
- 🔧 Build from scratch: Opportunity to define and implement quality systems, not just maintain them
- ⚡ Fast learning curve: Work across design, manufacturing, and supplier ecosystems
- 🌱 Real impact: Build hardware that goes into real-world use, not just prototypes
