About this role:

Gartner is searching for an India-based Principal Analyst to join our global Invest Practice, serving our Venture Capital, Private Equity, Public Equity, and Investment Banking clients withing our Emerging Technology research group. Operating as a critical engine in Gartner’s 24/7 "follow-the-sun" model (NY–London–India), you will track daily investment activities, decode early-stage tech innovations, and rapidly synthesize Gartner's proprietary research into tailored, high-impact deliverables for Invest Analysts and sales-led initiatives. This individual will work on a wide range of written deliverables. The specialist must be interested in all types of technology innovation and combine strong business and financial acumen with an agile mindset: immersing yourself in one technology trend today, and seamlessly pivoting to the next to match the market's relentless pace. This role is a key feeder to careers reaching the highest levels of Gartner.

What you will do:

▪          Track Daily Invest Activity & Enable Follow-the-Sun Support: Monitor global financial and market developments daily across Venture Capital, Private Equity, Public Equity, and Investment Banking to support Gartner’s 24/7 global delivery model (NY–London–India).

▪          Curate & Customize Content for Invest Analysts: Translate and tailor Gartner’s technology research, market data, and insights into high-impact, actionable deliverables as well as lead author publications tailored specifically for Invest Analysts and clients.

▪          Fuel Sales-Led & Timely Content Creation: Leverage business and economic acumen to rapidly identify relevant and timely published research for Invest clients that support sales initiatives.

▪          Partner Across Global Stakeholder Teams: Collaborate seamlessly with core Invest analyst team and leadership to ensure timely delivery.

Who you are:

We are looking for creative, analytically sharp, articulate, and self-motivated individuals who want to build a career tracking emerging technology signals and translating them into actionable intelligence for the investment community. You possess a strong passion for tech innovation, early-stage startups, and financial markets, with a keen interest in how emerging trends impact Venture Capital, Private Equity, Public Equity, and Investment Banking.

Unlike traditional buy-side/sell-side finance, investment banking, or management consulting, our strategic research positions do not depend on deal sourcing or business development targets. Our search for talent centers on your ability to track daily market activity, analyze emerging tech innovations, and deliver rigorous, customized insights that power our 24/7 global delivery model.

Key characteristics of successful hires include:

• Strong Business & Tech Acumen: A deep appetite to track investment activities daily and explore early-stage tech trends to extract high-value market insights.
• Analytical & Customization Capabilities: Ability to gather, analyze, and restructure complex qualitative and quantitative data to tailor Gartner content specifically for Invest Analysts and sales-led initiatives.
• Precision Communication: Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex market and technology concepts clearly, logically, and persuasively.
• Agility Under Fast-Paced Conditions: Proven competence in meeting tight daily deadlines, multi-tasking across dynamic market trends, and delivering high-quality work in a "follow-the-sun" global workflow.
• Continuous Curiosity & Ownership: A drive to constantly learn, adapt to shifting market signals, and take self-motivated ownership of research deliverables.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Education: Master’s degree (Business, Economics, Finance, MBA, or Technology-related field) or PhD preferred.
• Experience: 5-8 years of experience in market research, equity/investment research (highly preferred), corporate strategy, or management consulting within the technology or financial services sectors.
• Methodology: Proven expertise in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, data synthesis, and insight generation.
• Domain Knowledge: General understanding of financial markets, investment lifecycles, and emerging technology ecosystems.
