Principal System Development Engineer - Mechanical Engineering Tool
We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineering (ME) Tools Specialist to serve as the primary technical anchor and systems expert within the Taiwan Design Center. In this role, you will be the go-to resource for our mechanical engineering teams, ensuring they have the right tools, processes, and support to innovate efficiently.
You will act as the critical bridge between regional engineering execution and global strategy, championing best practices across internal teams and our Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs). The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in PTC Creo and Windchill, a passion for process governance, and a strong understanding of modern digital engineering concepts.
Essential Requirements
- Mechanical Engineering Background: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or related engineering discipline.
- Advanced CAD / PLM System Expertise: Hands-on expertise in PTC Creo (3D modeling, assembly management) and Windchill (PLM workflows, product data management, and access control).
- Bilingual Communication & Global Collaboration: Fluent in Mandarin and English, with the ability to create technical documentation and collaborate effectively with global teams and ODM partners.
- Digital Engineering & IT Knowledge: Strong understanding of Digital Thread and Digital Twin concepts, combined with foundational knowledge of Windows OS, networking, and enterprise security in engineering environments.
- Technical Leadership & Stakeholder Management: Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams, drive standards adoption, advocate user requirements, and communicate effectively with management.
Desirable Requirements
- Advanced Engineering Tools & Simulation: Experience with mechanical simulation tools, including FEA, thermal, and structural analysis, as well as cross-disciplinary collaboration between MCAD and ECAD environments.
- Enterprise PLM & Technical Infrastructure: Familiarity with enterprise product development systems (Agile PLM, Oracle Product Development) and Linux-based engineering environments.
You will:
- Serve as the Mechanical Engineering Tools Subject Matter Expert: Act as the primary expert for PTC Creo and Windchill, providing guidance on advanced modeling, assembly management, product lifecycle management, workflow configuration, BOM management, and engineering tool optimization.
- Support and Enable Engineering Teams: Partner with internal engineering teams to understand workflow requirements, resolve complex technical issues, support simulation environments, and eliminate productivity barriers.
- Drive Standards, Governance, and Best Practices: Establish, promote, and enforce CAD standards, Creo modeling methodologies, and Windchill data management practices across engineering teams and ODM partners.
- Influence Global Engineering Tool Strategy: Serve as a liaison between regional engineering teams and global stakeholders, communicating business requirements, user feedback, and tool enhancement opportunities to support enterprise transformation initiatives.
- Advance Digital Engineering and IT Integration: Leverage Digital Thread and Digital Twin principles to improve product lifecycle management and data traceability, while collaborating with IT teams to ensure secure and efficient engineering tool deployment.
