Job Information

Recruiter: Lloyd Hughes

About the role

Passionate in cyber security, technology and solving complex problems? We'd love to hear from you.

Cyber security is constantly evolving. New technologies emerge, adversaries adapt, and the ways organisations defend themselves change continuously. That's why we're not simply looking for people to fill a single, narrowly-defined role—we're looking for curious minds who want to build their future in cyber.

Whether you're an early-career candidate exploring where your interests fit, or an experienced professional looking for your next challenge, you'll have the opportunity to develop skills across multiple cyber disciplines. You might find yourself analysing data, building software, developing investigative tradecraft, researching adversary behaviour, automating workflows, or creating new capabilities that help protect the UK's most critical organisations.

Unlike many cyber roles that focus on a single specialism, our team bring together elements of cyber analysis, software engineering, data science, threat research and capability development. The result is varied, meaningful work that continues to evolve alongside both technology and the threat landscape.

If you've ever been fascinated by how technology works, how cyber threats are uncovered, or how innovative tools can help solve difficult problems, there's a good chance you'll find a home here.

Note: To apply for this role you must already hold the relevant DV Security Clearance. This job role can be based in Ipswich, London or Manchester. Due to security requirements, this role requires you to be located on site during your working hours. Mon-Fri 37.5.

What you’ll be doing

Depending on your skills, interests and experience, you may:

•    Build tools and platforms that help cyber teams work more effectively.
•    Explore large and complex datasets to uncover valuable insights.
•    Develop automation and software that improves cyber operations.
•    Research emerging technologies, threats and analytical techniques.
•    Support investigations into sophisticated cyber activity.
•    Create new capabilities that help defend the UK's critical infrastructure and government organisations.
•    Collaborate with engineers, analysts, researchers and cyber specialists to solve challenging problems.
•    Continuously learn and adapt as technologies, threats and opportunities evolve.

No two careers in this space look identical —and that's part of what makes it interesting.

You might be a good fit if you've ever found yourself asking questions like:

•    How do cyber teams actually uncover threats?
•    How do the tools behind modern cyber investigations really work?
•    How do you build the technology that powers cyber investigations at scale?
•    How do software, data and cyber security all fit together?
•    How can we stay ahead of constantly evolving threats?
•    How can I turn curiosity into real-world impact?
•    How can I bring all my previous experience together into one impactful role?
•    How will cyber teams evolve and adapt to the AI-revolution?

You don't need to have all the answers already. We're looking for people with curiosity, enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.

Essential Skills / Experience

You don't need to be an expert in every area—we're looking for people who bring curiosity, potential and a genuine enthusiasm for technology and cyber security.

•    A strong interest in cyber security, technology and solving complex problems.
•    An analytical mindset with the ability to think logically and approach challenges in a structured way.
•    A willingness to learn new tools, technologies and ways of working across cyber, software and data disciplines.
•    Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
•    A proactive approach to learning, continuous improvement and personal development.
•    An interest in understanding how technology, data and security can be used together to create meaningful outcomes.
•    A growth mindset and enthusiasm for tackling unfamiliar challenges.
•    Ability to obtain and maintain UK Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance.

Desirable Skills / Experience

These skills and experiences are helpful, but not required.
•    Experience with programming, scripting or software development through work, education or personal projects.
•    Familiarity with data analysis, data visualisation or working with large and complex datasets.

•    Experience using automation to improve processes, increase efficiency or solve technical problems.
•    Familiarity with Linux, cloud platforms, databases, APIs or modern development practices.
•    An interest in emerging technologies, data science, artificial intelligence or machine learning.
•    Practical security experience gained through personal projects, home labs, hackathons, open-source contributions or self-directed learning.
