About the role
About the role
Beam is building the fastest cloud runtime for AI. Our serverless runtime launches GPU-backed containers in under a second, powering apps that scale to millions of users. Ambitious startups and Fortune 100 companies use Beam to host custom ML models and run LLM-generated code in secure sandboxes. We also provide dedicated GPU clusters to AI companies that need bare-metal capacity. That capacity comes from a network of datacenter partners and, increasingly, from our own hardware.
Beam serves millions of requests a day for hundreds of companies in production. We’re backed by Y Combinator, Tiger Global, and prominent developer-tool founders, including the founder of Snyk and the former CTO of GitHub.
About the role
AI companies that need a few dozen to a few hundred GPUs have a hard time getting them. The largest providers prioritize bigger deals, and the rest of the supply is spread across hundreds of datacenters worldwide. Beam closes that gap.
We’re hiring a Compute Partnerships Manager to match customer demand with that supply. You’ll bring new suppliers on, move their contracts to signature, and keep track of every deal from the first call until the capacity is live. You’ll work with our sales, engineering and legal teams and report directly to our CEO.
You’ll be talking with suppliers every week. You’ll own deals that involve a lot of moving parts and see each one through to delivery.
What you’ll work on
- Find and onboard new GPU suppliers (neoclouds, independent datacenters, OEMs) to add capacity and diversify where it comes from
- Run first calls with prospective suppliers and collect hardware specs, pricing, availability and delivery dates
- Check each supplier’s configuration against what our customers need (GPU type, network fabric, location, operator) and flag gaps before anything gets quoted
- Coordinate KYC and export screening before anyone signs
- Keep supplier profiles and the capacity tracker current as new information comes in
- Map the market and find new partners among datacenters, GPU operators and OEMs
- Write and maintain supplier-facing material: one-pagers, proposals and decks
What we’re looking for
- 2–4 years in partnerships, deal desk, BD or a similar coordination-heavy role, ideally in infrastructure, cloud or marketplace businesses
- An existing network among datacenter operators, neoclouds or hyperscalers
- You can handle a high volume of contracts, follow-ups and trackers without anything slipping
- You write clearly and negotiate firmly
- You take ownership and move without waiting to be asked
Nice to have
- Exposure to AI/ML workloads or GPU hardware
- Experience redlining contracts or working a deal desk
- You can read a BOM or a spec sheet and know why a customer cares about InfiniBand versus RoCE
Benefits
- Competitive salary with meaningful equity
- Health, dental, vision, 401(k)
- Join a fast-growing pre-series A company at the ground floor
- Fitness stipend, learning budget, quarterly team offsites
About Beam
Cloud computing is broken.
AI has introduced a new generation of workloads, like GPU inference, sandboxes, and agents. These aren't ordinary applications that can be run as Lambdas, or Dockerized apps on VMs: they're massive, stateless containers that need to spin up in <1s, often across multiple clouds and regions.
Today, engineers are hacking together infra that breaks under real-world loads. That's where we come in.
Our mission is to build the world's best compute platform for AI. Our first product is a serverless inference platform, used by companies like Coca Cola, Geospy and hundreds more. We've built our own container runtime, called beta9, which is designed for launching GPU-backed containers in under 1s.
We're a small, highly-technical team, with backgrounds in distributed systems and robotics. We've raised $7M from YC, Tiger, Guy Podjarny (Founder of Snyk), and Jason Warner (former CTO of Github).
We're searching for intensely curious, passionate, and hard-working engineers to join our mission in rebuilding the cloud for the age of AI.
