Job Description and RequirementsWe Are
Synopsys is the leader in engineering solutions from silicon to systems, enabling customers to rapidly innovate AI-powered products. We deliver industry-leading silicon design, IP, simulation and analysis solutions, and design services. We partner closely with our customers across a wide range of industries to maximize their R&D capability and productivity, powering innovation today that ignites the ingenuity of tomorrow.
You Are
You have spent years deep in the world of static timing analysis, not just running signoff but actually understanding why a design closes or why it does not, and what needs to change to make it work at scale. You know PrimeTime inside out, not just the commands but the architecture, the corner cases, the workarounds that buy you 10 percent capacity, and the constraints that make or break a tapeout.
You are equally comfortable sitting with a customer's design team debugging a crosstalk violation at 3nm and sitting with R&D mapping out what distributed STA needs to look like for cloud-native workflows. You have seen enough production deployments to know the difference between a demo that looks good and a solution that actually closes timing on a multi-die SoC with 500 modes.
You do not just solve problems, you see patterns across them. When three customers hit the same thermal-aware timing issue, you connect the dots and turn it into a roadmap conversation. You write clear technical summaries, you lead beta programs without waiting for perfect documentation, and you push back when a feature is not ready for production. At Synopsys, you will shape the next generation of timing signoff technology and make sure it works where it matters, in the hands of the teams building the hardest chips in the industry.
What You'll Be Doing
- Drive deployment and production readiness of PrimeTime capabilities including HyperGrid, distributed STA, native IR-aware timing, thermal-aware analysis, aging models, and multi-die signoff at strategic semiconductor customers
- Engage directly with customer design teams to understand their signoff challenges, define success criteria, lead technical reviews, and accelerate adoption of new PrimeTime technologies
- Partner with R&D to evaluate new architectures, validate functionality, improve performance and capacity, and resolve complex product issues across the PrimeTime platform
- Lead beta programs and pre-production evaluations, including release qualification, deployment planning, and structured feedback loops that shape product priorities
- Translate customer requirements, deployment experience, and competitive insights into clear roadmap recommendations for Product Management and Engineering
- Champion next-generation initiatives such as cloud-native PrimeTime, AI-assisted Tcl generation and debugging, automated SDC generation, and ML-based corner optimization
- Resolve critical customer escalations through structured technical analysis, root-cause identification, effective workarounds, and long-term corrective actions that improve the product
The Impact You Will Have
- Enable successful tapeouts at leading semiconductor companies by ensuring PrimeTime signoff solutions work reliably on the most complex designs at advanced nodes
- Shape the PrimeTime roadmap by translating real deployment challenges into product priorities that R&D can act on with confidence
- Accelerate time-to-production for new capabilities like distributed STA and multi-die analysis, reducing customer risk and increasing competitive differentiation
- Strengthen customer relationships and trust by serving as the technical leader who shows up when it matters and delivers solutions that hold up under production pressure
- Influence the next generation of timing signoff technology, including cloud-native workflows and AI-assisted design automation, ensuring Synopsys stays ahead of industry shifts
- Mentor Product and Application Engineers across the organization, raising technical capability and deployment effectiveness across the field
- Drive faster issue resolution and higher product quality by creating feedback loops between customers, field teams, and R&D that surface problems early and fix them systematically
What You'll Need
- BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline
- Extensive experience in EDA, ASIC/SoC design, physical implementation, or timing-signoff methodologies with a track record of solving complex production problems
- Deep knowledge of static timing analysis, multi-corner multi-mode analysis, variation modeling, noise analysis, and advanced-node signoff challenges
- Hands-on experience with PrimeTime or comparable timing-signoff solutions, including Tcl-based automation and constraint management
- Strong scripting skills in Tcl and Python for workflow automation, data analysis, and tool integration
- Experience with distributed STA, HyperGrid, cloud computing, AI/ML-enabled EDA, multiphysics analysis, or 3DIC signoff is a strong plus
- A track record of deploying new technologies at leading semiconductor customers and influencing product roadmaps through structured technical feedback is highly valued
Who You Are
- You can walk into a customer meeting with incomplete data, ask the right questions, and walk out with a clear plan that both the design team and your R&D counterpart can execute against
- You know how to explain a complex timing violation or a distributed STA architecture to a VP in two minutes without losing the technical nuance that matters
- You push back when a feature is not ready for production, and you do it in a way that keeps the team aligned and the customer confident
- You are organized enough to manage five beta programs, three escalations, and two roadmap discussions at once without dropping threads or losing context
- You see patterns across customer issues and turn them into actionable product improvements rather than one-off fixes
- You mentor engineers naturally, not because it is in your job description but because you genuinely want the team around you to get better at this work
The Team You'll Be Part Of
You will work within the PrimeTime Product Engineering organization, a team that sits at the intersection of R&D, Product Management, Application Engineering, and customer engagements. This team drives technology leadership and production readiness for timing signoff solutions used by leading semiconductor companies worldwide. You will collaborate closely with R&D engineers developing next-generation STA capabilities, field application engineers supporting customer deployments, and product managers defining strategy and roadmap priorities. The team operates globally and works on some of the most technically demanding signoff challenges in the industry, from multi-die systems to cloud-native workflows to AI-assisted design automation.
Rewards and Benefits
