We are looking for a Software Asset Specialist to join our FinOps & Software Licensing team and take ownership of software licences, SaaS subscriptions, domains and SSL certificates across their full lifecycle. This is a hands-on role for someone who combines a practical technical foundation with strong organisation, curiosity and the confidence to work independently with stakeholders across a global business.

This is a 12-month fixed-term opportunity covering parental leave, with a planned start in January 2027.

Job Description

Your Influential Mission: You Will…

• Manage the lifecycle of software licences and SaaS subscriptions, from request and purchase through allocation, renewal and retirement.
• Maintain accurate software inventory, entitlement and usage data in the company’s software asset management platform.
• Monitor licence compliance, resolve discrepancies, support vendor audits and true-ups, and identify opportunities to reclaim unused licences and reduce cost.
• Handle software licence requests through the IT service desk within agreed service levels, including approvals, provisioning and offboarding revocations.
• Assign user seats, support group-based provisioning and single sign-on, and help resolve access, login and permission issues.
• Track renewal dates and work with Procurement to begin renewals ahead of expiry.
• Prepare software licence budgets and forecasts, support purchase justifications, allocate costs and work with Finance on invoices, provisions and spend reporting.
• Manage domain purchases, renewals, transfers and DNS records, together with the end-to-end lifecycle of SSL certificates.
• Partner with business users, IT, Information Security, Procurement, Finance and external providers, translating technical topics into clear, practical language.
• Maintain process documentation and produce regular reporting on licences, spend and renewals.

Qualifications

Components for Success: You…

• Have excellent written and spoken English.
• Bring at least two years of experience in an IT-related environment, such as IT operations, service desk, system administration, DevOps, IT procurement or software licensing.
• Have enough technical understanding to work confidently with concepts such as Active Directory, single sign-on, DNS and SSL certificates. Deep technical expertise is not required.
• Are highly organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage several requests, renewals and priorities at the same time.
• Learn new tools and processes quickly and are comfortable taking ownership with limited day-to-day supervision.
• Do not only raise problems. You investigate, use judgement and bring possible solutions or clear next steps.
• Communicate confidently with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including Finance, Legal, Procurement, business users and external partners.
• Are trustworthy, accountable and comfortable working independently as part of a geographically distributed team.
• Use Microsoft tools confidently, particularly Excel, Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint and Outlook.
• Are open to new technology and use modern tools responsibly to improve efficiency, documentation and processes.

You’ll Get Extra Points for…

• Experience with software asset management platforms such as Snow, Flexera or ServiceNow, and familiarity with software licensing models.
• Experience with IT service management or ticketing platforms such as Jira Service Management or ServiceNow.
• Hands-on exposure to user provisioning, Active Directory groups or access management workflows.
• Experience managing domain registrars, DNS records or SSL certificates.
• A SAM, ITIL or FinOps certification.

Thrive in a culture that values...

• Ownership and trust, with the freedom to organise your work and propose better ways of doing things.
• Learning and development, recognising that the full scope of this specialist role can be learned over time.
• Open communication across cultures, functions and locations.
• Practical innovation and thoughtful use of new tools to make work simpler and more effective.
• Work-life balance, with no routine overtime or on-call duties expected.
• Flexible hybrid working in line with the local office policy and clear communication within the team.
