Clara is the leading platform in Latin America for companies to execute and manage every payment operation. More than 50,000 leading and fast-growing businesses run on our corporate cards, bill pay, financing and B2B payments, and in 2025 the Financial Times named Clara the region’s fastest-growing company. We’re passionate about helping every company we work with become more effective—and, through that, raising the region’s competitiveness. We’re ~400 people, backed by Notable Capital, Coatue, Kaszek, monashees, DST Global, ICONIQ, General Catalyst and Goldman Sachs, among others.

About the role

As a Product Designer at Clara, you’ll own the design of a product area end to end, from discovery to shipped product, working with product, engineering and data to solve real problems for finance teams.

This is a hands-on builder role that reports to the Head of Design. You don’t just use AI to prototype faster; you use it to build working solutions, test them with users, and ship with the team. You have the judgment to decide what to apply, when to go deep, and when to move fast and ship.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional partners as part of our always-on discovery pipeline to shape product requirements.
• Conduct user research and testing, using AI for desk research and synthesis while owning the rigor of the insights.
• Turn ambiguous problems into flows and interfaces that work for users and the business alike.
• Go from idea to a functional, testable prototype in days, not weeks, using AI coding tools, and take it far enough that engineering can build from it.
• Experiment instead of guessing. Put early versions in front of real users, measure what happens, and iterate toward the answer rather than designing the perfect solution upfront.
• Ensure quality and consistency across all deliverables, including AI-assisted work, building with our design system and contributing back when it falls short.
• Own the UX performance of the products you design, and drive the improvements that follow.

Who you are

• 4+ years as a Product, UX or Interaction Designer, having owned design work end to end, from discovery to shipped product, with a portfolio that shows it.
• Senior judgment: you have decided what to build, what to cut and when to ship and can explain the trade-offs.
• You build with AI every day. With tools like Claude Code or Codex, you go from idea to working software on your own, not just mockups.
• An experimentation mindset: you ship early versions, test them with real users, read the data, and let the results decide what to scale and what to kill.
• Experience in user research and usability testing, from planning and running studies to synthesizing insights that shape design decisions.
• Strong design craft and attention to detail. You can tell when something works but still isn’t good.
• Clear, confident communication, comfortable presenting and defending your design decisions.
• Professional English: you can present your work, run a session and write documentation in English.

Nice to haves

• Experience in fintech or B2B products with complex, data-heavy UI.
• Experience contributing to or building a design system: components, patterns or documentation that other designers used.
• Enough frontend knowledge to review implementation and open pull requests on what you designed.
• Experience with structured, agent-ready guidelines, docs built for both humans and AI to use.

Where we work

This is a hybrid role: you'll split your time between the office, customers and home. We don't set a minimum number of office days for most roles — you'll spend time in the office naturally, and most days during your ramp-up or when your leader asks.

Why Clara

How we work

If you meet the must-haves, apply — the nice-to-haves are a bonus, not a requirement.
