Senior Product Management Consultant – Datacenter Power & Cooling Infrastructure

PowerEdge & Datacenter Infrastructure Product Management Team

Product Development Management is a fast-paced environment where innovative thinking is prized. Our team focuses on the delivery of products and computer-based systems for external customers. We lead and deliver the entire lifecycle from product definition and planning through to production and release, and we oversee modifications, upgrades and maintenance of the product line. To make the whole process run smoothly and seamlessly, we're experts in project management, from initiation through to delivery, and liaise with other departments on technical matters.

Join us to do the best work of your career and make a profound social impact as a Product Management Consultant – Datacenter Power & Cooling Infrastructure on our PowerEdge Product Management Team in Round Rock, Texas or Hopkinton, Massachusetts.

What you'll achieve

As a Product Management Consultant, you will define and drive the roadmap for power and cooling infrastructure offerings — rack power distribution, PDU and busway solutions, liquid cooling (direct-to-chip and immersion), coolant distribution units (CDUs), rear-door heat exchangers, and thermal management solutions — that complement and unlock the full performance of the PowerEdge server portfolio, particularly for AI and high-density deployments. This role requires deep expertise in datacenter power and thermal technologies, a strong grasp of the datacenter market and competitive landscape, and the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams including the CTO organization, engineering, supply chain, and ecosystem partners.

Take the first step towards your dream career

Every Dell Technologies team member brings something unique to the table. Here's what we are looking for with this role:

Essential Requirements

• Typically requires 12+ years of related experience in a professional role with a Bachelor's degree; or 8+ years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 5+ years of experience; or equivalent experience.

• Deep technical expertise in datacenter power and cooling infrastructure, including: liquid cooling architectures (direct-to-chip cold plates, CDUs, manifolds, immersion cooling, facility water integration); rack-level power delivery (PDUs, busways, 48V and high-voltage DC trends, PSU and battery backup design, power capping and telemetry); and facility-level context (datacenter electrical/mechanical design, PUE and efficiency metrics, and how rack-level products interact with facility constraints as AI racks scale beyond 100kW).

• Working knowledge of relevant standards and ecosystems — ASHRAE thermal guidelines, Open Compute Project (OCP) cooling environments — and familiarity with enterprise compute, AI/GPU platforms, storage, and networking sufficient to align power/cooling solutions with the broader portfolio.

• Demonstrated commercial acumen, including BOM costing, P&L ownership, pricing strategy, and experience building business cases for attach/complementary products (attach rates, solution bundling, and power/cooling TCO modeling).

• End-to-end program leadership experience defining projects, collecting requirements, and coordinating cross-functional efforts across supply chain, engineering, procurement, and services to scope, schedule, and deploy complex hardware/infrastructure solutions, using quantitative data to prioritize decision-making.

• Customer-facing executive presence with the ability to engage credibly with enterprise and CSP stakeholders — including datacenter facilities teams, mechanical/electrical engineers, and consulting engineers — on technical power and cooling architecture as well as delivery and business commitments, while driving cross-functional alignment across a matrixed organization without direct authority.

• Ability to operate in ambiguity — navigating pre-RTS products, evolving AI architectures and thermal requirements, constrained supply environments, and shifting customer requirements with strategic problem-solving and execution discipline.

Desirable Requirements

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, or a related discipline.

• Prior experience at a datacenter cooling or power vendor (e.g., thermal solutions, CDU, PDU/UPS suppliers), or in hyperscale/colocation infrastructure engineering.

• Hands-on experience deploying liquid-cooled AI/HPC clusters or high-density rack solutions at enterprise or CSP scale.

Compensation
Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this position is USD $204,000 to $280,500

About Dell Technologies — ISG Developer Experience

Dell's Infrastructure Solutions Group is a global leader in Solutions, Storage, Compute, and Networking. The Developer Experience organization within ISG is responsible for developer productivity, tooling, observability, and platform engineering for approximately 9,000 engineers. Our current mandate spans agentic SDLC transformation, AI tooling governance, and the operating model changes required to make AI-assisted development the norm — not the exception.

Infrastructure Solutions Group (ISG) builds the products that power infrastructure, solutions, and data management our customers need most. Our teams design and develop the hardware and software that connect infrastructure, accelerate computational workloads, integrate across the stack, protect data continuity, and deliver the platforms, applications, and diagnostics our customers rely on every day at enterprise scale.

Some product builders follow the rules. Ours rewrite them.

Within ISG, innovation isn't just about creating new technology- it's about challenging assumptions and reimagining how work gets done. Engineers define intent, author precise specifications, and orchestrate AI agents that execute at speed and scale. AI is embedded throughout our development process, helping us move faster, learn quicker, and deliver greater impact. Yet the most important contribution remains uniquely human: deciding what to build, designing how it should work, and applying the judgment needed to earn our customers' trust. When your products power critical infrastructure around the world, that responsibility matters.

We move quickly toward the work that matters most. We reward experimentation, encourage bold thinking, and remove unnecessary barriers so great ideas can become reality faster. Our teams embrace a customer-first, first-to-market mindset, transforming rapid feedback into better products and better outcomes. We aren't looking for people who are content with the status quo- we look for builders who question it, improve it, and occasionally rewrite it.

If you're energized by solving complex systems challenges, excited to work alongside AI to amplify your impact, and motivated by the opportunity to shape what's next instead of simply maintaining what's been done before, you'll find your place here.
