We complement our extensive line of Motive Power and Energy Systems with a full range of integrated services and systems. With sales and service locations throughout the world, and over 100 years of battery experience, EnerSys is the power/full solution for stored DC power products.

Job Purpose

At EnerSys, we don’t just build batteries ; we power the systems behind the global energy transition.

As electrification accelerates across industries, we are scaling next-generation energy storage and IoT platforms used worldwide.

We are looking for a Lead IoT Software Engineer ready to build, lead, and shape what comes next.

If you enjoy working at the intersection of embedded systems, cloud, and real-world impact: this role is for you.

Why join EnerSys?

• Be part of the global shift toward sustainable energy
• Work on real-world industrial IoT systems, not just prototypes
• Collaborate across international teams with global visibility
• Take ownership of systems that matter - from embedded devices to cloud platforms

The impact you will make

You will play a critical role in designing and delivering the software powering next-generation energy storage systems.

From embedded Linux devices to cloud-connected APIs, your work will ensure that our IoT platforms are secure, scalable, and ready for global deployment.

What you will do

• Lead a team of software engineers through Agile sprint cycles
• Design and develop embedded software (C/C++/Python) on Linux (ARM)
• Build and integrate APIs, backend services, and IoT cloud solutions
• Drive technical decisions and architecture improvements
• Debug and prototype on hardware platforms
• Ensure high standards of security, performance, and reliability
• Collaborate with global teams across engineering and product

Why this role is exciting

• You’ll work at the intersection of hardware, software, and cloud
• Your code will power critical infrastructure in the energy transition
• You’ll have real ownership, not just implementation tasks
• You’ll influence how systems are designed - not just built

What will help you succeed

We’re looking for experienced engineers who:

• Have a strong background in IoT or embedded software engineering
• Understand distributed systems, APIs, and cloud-native architectures
• Are comfortable working across embedded + backend environments
• Can translate complex requirements into robust technical solutions
• Bring a hands-on mindset with leadership capability
• Thrive in Agile and international environments

Technical Skills

• Embedded Linux (Yocto), Docker, Azure IoT
• Industrial protocols (MQTT, Modbus, WebSocket)
• Hardware interfaces (CAN, SPI, I2C, RS485)
• Experience in energy systems or industrial IoT

What we offer

• Flexible working model (remote, with occasional travel to our sites in France or Italy, or hybrid working options available)
• Opportunity to work on cutting-edge IoT platforms with global impact
• Strong learning culture: courses, conferences, and development support
• International collaboration with talented engineering teams
• High ownership and autonomy in technical decisions

Diversity & Inclusion

At EnerSys, we believe diverse teams build better solutions. We welcome applications from all backgrounds and experiences and are committed to creating an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive.

Ready to make an impact?

Apply now and help us power the future of energy and electric mobility.
