As a Procurement Technology Category Manager, you’ll play a critical role in driving value and managing risk across Rocket’s technology spend. You’ll own sourcing, vendor relationships, and category strategy for software, hardware, and technology-related professional services. You’ll partner with IT, Engineering, Security, and the business to get the best value, terms, and risk posture. This individual contributor role is built for a procurement pro ready to take on greater ownership. You’ll balance day-to-day execution with strategic thinking and grow into more complex negotiations and deeper category ownership over time.

About the role

• Manage day-to-day sourcing for your assigned portion of the technology category, including RFPs, RFQs, and contract negotiations.
• Partner with IT, Security, Engineering, and business units to understand technology needs and turn them into clear sourcing requirements.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and service levels with technology vendors, with senior category leadership alongside you on complex or high-risk deals.
• Track and manage a pipeline of open requisitions and contracts, keeping them moving through approval, negotiation, and execution.
• Conduct market research and benchmarking to support pricing and vendor selection decisions.
• Support vendor performance reviews and renewal planning, and identify cost-saving and cost-avoidance opportunities within your category.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policy, sourcing procedures, and contract standards, and keep accurate documentation of sourcing decisions, contract terms, and vendor communications.
