Meet the Moment with Alteryx
At Alteryx, we're building technology that helps organizations connect to, manage, and work with their data securely and efficiently. As data, automation, and AI continue to evolve, our cloud platform plays an important role in helping customers solve complex problems and make better decisions.
We're looking for engineers who enjoy meaningful technical challenges, value collaboration, and want to build technology that makes a real difference.
Position Overview
We're looking for a Software Engineer to join our Data Plane Transport team within Cloud Platform Engineering. Our team builds and operates foundational services that enable secure, reliable communication between Alteryx Cloud, data planes, and customer environments. Our work includes Data Bridge, which enables customers to securely access private data sources, along with shared platform services for connectivity, networking, registration, and
orchestration across distributed cloud environments.
This is a hands-on, backend-focused engineering role, primarily developing services and APIs in Go, with some opportunities to contribute to frontend applications using TypeScript and React.
You'll collaborate with experienced engineers, contribute to technical decisions, and take ownership of features and improvements from development through production.
This is a remote-friendly role.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services, APIs, and distributed systems, primarily using Go.
Build and improve secure connectivity solutions involving service registration,
orchestration, routing, and proxy/relay-based communication.
Own well-defined features and enhancements through implementation, testing,
deployment, and production support.
Develop and maintain cloud-native services running in AWS and GCP, with a focus on reliability, security, and scalability.
Contribute to frontend applications and platform management experiences using TypeScript and React when needed.
Investigate and troubleshoot issues across application code, cloud infrastructure, and networking components.
Improve automated testing, monitoring, logging, alerting, and operational tooling. Participate in technical discussions, design reviews, and code reviews while collaborating with Product, Infrastructure, Security, and other engineering teams.
Participate in an on-call rotation after onboarding, helping maintain production reliability and address recurring issues.
Required Qualifications
2+ years of professional software engineering experience, or equivalent relevant experience.
Experience building backend services and REST APIs using Go or a comparable backend language, with the ability to become productive in Go.
Strong software engineering fundamentals, including debugging, automated testing, and writing clean, maintainable code.
Familiarity with distributed systems, microservices, and service-to-service communication.
Understanding of networking fundamentals, including HTTP/TLS, TCP/IP, DNS, and client-server communication.
Experience developing or deploying applications in cloud environments such as AWS, GCP, or similar platforms.
Experience with Git, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software
development practices.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to independently deliver
scoped work while collaborating with a team.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with TypeScript, React, or similar frontend technologies.
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform, or other cloud-native tooling.
Familiarity with cloud networking, private connectivity, proxies, gateways, or secure tunneling.
Exposure to event-driven architectures and messaging technologies such as Kafka, Redis, or Pub/Sub.
Familiarity with observability tools such as Datadog, metrics, logging, and distributed tracing.
Understanding of security concepts such as authentication, certificates, secrets management, and encryption.
Experience troubleshooting production services, participating in on-call rotations, or improving system reliability.
