This is a U.S. based hybrid position based in our San Francisco headquarters. Candidates should be able to work from the office once per week, or more frequently as needed. Our office is located in San Francisco’s Financial District near Union Square and is easily accessible via BART. Please note that, at this time, we’re unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role.
We’re looking for a People & Workplace Operations Associate who will be responsible for creating a thoughtful, engaging and reliable employee experience at AllTrails. Reporting to the Manager, People & Talent Operations, this role supports programs across the employee lifecycle and serves as the day-to-day office liaison for the AllTrails San Francisco office.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, service-oriented, and energized by being out in front of employees. They’re adept at balancing detailed operational workflows, facilitating employee connection, and overseeing the practical needs of a hybrid office environment. They are a welcoming first point of contact who keeps work moving, identifies opportunities to improve processes, and partners effectively with People, IT, vendors, and employees across the company.
Coordinate employee lifecycle workflows, including interview scheduling, preboarding (background-check coordination, I-9 verification, materials, leading orientation), and offboarding
Update employee records, process data changes in appropriate systems and support recurring compliance checks in support of established People workflows
Coordinate leave administration and escalate policy or complex cases
Support People programs and special projects, such as intern operations and employee lifecycle process improvements
Act as a culture ambassador and drive initiatives to build community across the company
Identify recurring issues and recommend practical improvements to automate manual tasks wherever possible, such as creating repeatable templates, making People processes more efficient, consistent, and employee-friendly
Respond to employee and manager questions through People Operations channels and route more complex questions to the appropriate People team partner
Serve as the primary day-to-day point of contact for daily workplace operations, including office supplies procurement, pantry maintenance, shipping and receiving, and tracking related spend and expenses
Oversee facilities maintenance, cleaning, repairs, and general office-related requests to keep the workplace safe, functional, and welcoming
Provide onsite operational support and act as host during office events and team gatherings (note: role does not own event planning)
Maintain thorough documentation and standard operating procedures to ensure business continuity and eliminate single points of failure
2+ years of relevant experience in People Operations, HR administration, workplace operations, or a related operational role; direct People Operations experience is preferred
Strong organization and attention to detail, with reliable follow-through across recurring processes and day-to-day requests
A service-oriented, approachable style and the judgment to handle confidential information thoughtfully
A natural connector and confident communicator: comfortable speaking up in group settings, hosting or emceeing a gathering, and building rapport quickly with people you've just met.
Clear communication skills and the ability to partner with employees and cross-functional teams
Confident balancing hands-on office needs with employee lifecycle and administrative work
Capable of working onsite at our San Francisco office every Wednesday, with flexibility to come in on additional days as needed to support office operations and welcome visiting employees and teams
Curiosity and initiative to spot process gaps, document workflows, and suggest practical improvements
Experience with Rippling is a plus; familiarity with Slack, Google Workspace, and Glean, or ability to learn new tools quickly, is also helpful
Competitive and equitable compensation, including ownership through equity and performance-based bonuses
Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage to support your physical and mental well-being
Unlimited PTO in addition to company holidays
Dedicated time once a month to test and improve our product through company-wide no-meeting days
Fully paid parental leave to birthing and non-birthing parents
401k Match & access to financial wellness resources through Origin
Remote work stipend to help you design a comfortable and productive home office
Annual learning stipend to invest in your long-term professional growth and skills
Exclusive discounts on our subscriptions and merchandise for you and your friends & family
An authentic investment in you as a human being and a professional—we value your identity as much as your output
