At GoDaddy the future of work looks different for each team. Some teams work in the office full-time; others have a hybrid arrangement (they work remotely some days and in the office some days) and some work entirely remotely.
This is a remote position, so you’ll be working remotely from your home. You may occasionally visit a GoDaddy office to meet with your team for events or meetings.

As a Staff Engineer on the Site Platform (Apex) team, you will build the merchandising backbone behind GoDaddy's public web presence and customer shopping experience. Apex owns the services that power product pricing, packaging, and add-to-cart experiences across GoDaddy brands, as well as the platforms that experimentation and analytics build on. Your code and solutions will be used throughout the GoDaddy engineering ecosystem and across multiple brands.
This is a hands-on role where you will lead by example, delivering well-factored, well-tested, and reusable code that can adapt to changing needs. You will partner across multiple engineering teams to drive technical solutions and architecture for new and complex functions while gaining the opportunity to influence highly visible systems at scale.
What you'll get to do...
- Set the technical direction of highly visible, cross-organizational initiatives that require coordination with multiple stakeholders.
- Design and evolve the APIs and services behind merchandising, with attention to latency, resilience, and backward compatibility for downstream consumers.
- Develop internal platforms and tooling to increase the productivity and velocity of development, deployment, and operations across the organization.
- Mentor, lead, and influence engineers to ensure the success of collaborative solutions.
- Perform code reviews that reinforce a high standard of quality and engineering excellence.
- Contribute to open-source projects related to our technology stack and product domain while experimenting with new approaches and sharing successes and learnings with the team.
Your experience should include...
- 10+ years of professional Agile software development experience, including launching and operating production software for public use.
- Proven ability to collaborate across multi-functional areas such as Marketing, Engineering, and Product Management teams.
- Full-stack engineering expertise with React, Node.js, and TypeScript, including modern web-service architectures such as REST and GraphQL.
- Data store and caching experience within distributed systems, including technologies such as DynamoDB, Redis, or relational databases, with a focus on scale and fault tolerance.
- Cloud platform experience with AWS, infrastructure as code such as AWS CDK or Terraform, CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions, and container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes or ECS.
- Mentoring and technical leadership experience, with a demonstrated ability to help engineers grow their expertise and capabilities.
You might also have...
- Experience with merchandising technologies and systems that present and sell products across storefronts and channels, including experimentation strategies such as A/B or multi-variant testing and analytics/data pipelines.
- Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants such as Claude Code, developer tooling, or LLM-powered workflows.
We encourage you to apply even if your experience or skillset doesn’t align perfectly with every requirement. We value a wide range of backgrounds and transferable skills, and we are excited to support learning and growth.
