About our Emerging Talent Program:

Intuit invests in Emerging Talent because fresh perspectives strengthen our products and teams. The program is backed by a culture that values curiosity and collaboration, and you'll be supported by dedicated managers and mentors who are invested in your growth. As an intern or co-op, you'll work on meaningful projects with business impact, many centered on AI and emerging technologies, and contribute to driving  decisions. You'll build skills through function-specific learning opportunities, connect with a global community of interns and co-ops through dedicated programming and social events, and get exposure to senior leadership and cross-functional work across Intuit's product ecosystem. Learn more about our Intern and Co-op Program here.

As a Software Engineering Intern on Intuit's Cybersecurity (CTREC) team, you'll help build the platforms, tools, and services that protect our customers' financial data across TurboTax, QuickBooks, Credit Karma, and Mailchimp. Depending on your team placement, you'll work on areas like identity and authentication, data protection, fraud and abuse prevention, secure development tooling, or threat operations — writing production code alongside experienced engineers and using AI tools to move faster and think bigger. No prior security domain experience is required; we'll build that alongside you. We’re cultivating a culture that values innovators, risk-takers, and imaginative thinkers, and we embrace experimentation and rapid prototyping to turn ideas into real impact. Along the way, you’ll collaborate with peers and mentors, gain hands-on experience applying best practices in software development, and build the skills to launch a rewarding career in tech.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and test features across front-end, back-end, or full-stack systems that support Intuit's cybersecurity mission.
• Write clean, well-tested code and participate in code reviews to help the team hold a high bar.
• Use AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude, Cursor, Copilot) to accelerate your own workflow, and share what you learn with the team.
• Debug and resolve defects, learning to trace issues across the stack.
• Partner with engineers, security specialists, and product managers to turn requirements into working software.
• Support the deployment and ongoing maintenance of features you help ship.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in a degree-seeking program (associate’s, bachelor's, master's, MBA, PhD, or the equivalent) with an expected graduation date after the internship ends
• Familiarity with AI tools and a curiosity about how AI can be applied to solve real-world problems
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for the duration of the internship
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment at an Intuit office location determined by your team and role (Relocation stipend will be provided)
• Comfort with Git-based workflows and code review.
• Exposure to front-end frameworks (e.g., React) and/or cloud platforms (AWS or GCP) is a plus, depending on team placement.
• Security domain knowledge is a plus but not required — we'll build that as part of the internship.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and the software development lifecycle
• A "self-starter" attitude with the ability to take initiative and make independent decisions.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a history of successfully delivering on assigned tasks.
• Desire to learn and grow within a technical environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
