PRIVATE EQUITY OVERVIEW

Bain Capital Private Equity pioneered the value-added investment approach. We partner with management teams to help build and grow great companies. Our success is built on a highly rigorous approach utilizing deep industry/company insights and a significant investment in the resources and expertise to drive strategic and operational transformation at our companies.

Our global team, which now operates in eleven offices on four continents, has made more than 1,450 primary and add-on investments that have generated consistently strong returns. Collectively, more than 10 percent of our private equity funds’ commitments come from our professionals, far in excess of industry convention and reflective of both our strong principal investor mentality and confidence in our ability to generate industry-leading returns.

Bain Capital Asia aims to leverage the firm’s success and experience investing in North America and Europe to pursue investment opportunities in the Asian markets. Working with the firm’s US- and European-based teams and other investment areas, Bain Capital Asia functions as a part of an integrated worldwide organization and leverages the firm’s global capabilities in analyzing, executing, and managing investments.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The position can be based in Hong Kong or Shanghai. The Analyst/Associate program is a two-year commitment (with potential for ongoing employment following end of program). The program has been an important component of Bain Capital throughout the history of the firm. It provides a differential experience due to the roles Analysts/Associates play as well as our value-added approach to investment management. Furthermore, the breadth of industries, the multiple types of investments and the overall deal volume provide a unique opportunity to gain significant experience in a short period of time. In addition, Analysts/Associates will benefit from a comprehensive global training program that is designed to introduce Bain Capital's value-added investment approach. They will learn how to evaluate investment opportunities through the application of fundamental strategic analysis in addition to the more traditional financial modeling. For those interested, we also offer the ability to gain unique operating experience on a variety of portfolio company issues by working closely with management teams to evaluate potential add-on investments, assess opportunities in new and existing markets, and improve core operations.   Bain Capital professionals are exposed to a broad set of situations and companies and systematically develop skills as a value-added investor - not just a financial engineer.
