We pull medical technology from the future to solve human health.
Scarlet is authorised to assess and certify medical devices. We combine clinical, technical and regulatory expertise with AI agents and software so rigorous certification can keep pace with product development at the world’s most ambitious technology companies, without lowering the safety bar.
Our customers have cut a year or more from their certification timelines for new AI-enabled medical devices and shortened product-update cycles from months to weeks. You’ll join a team building the infrastructure that makes these outcomes repeatable at scale.
About the role
As Scarlet’s first Talent Engineer, you will own our process for identifying, qualifying and evaluating elite talent for our roles. You’ll systematise the tradecraft of finding surprising candidates our hiring managers are excited to meet, track how candidates progress, identify where drop-off happens, investigate why, and optimise the process. You will be accountable for how long it takes us to find and hire outstanding people.
Responsibilities
Systematise finding exceptional people beyond obvious job titles and familiar companies, including those who are not actively looking.
Exercise judgment to decide if, when and how to engage personally with candidates to assess their suitability before connecting them with hiring managers.
Systematise the capture and maintenance of clean, informative data across all our interactions with candidates.
Analyse hiring pipeline data to rigorously test and improve your approach.
Required qualifications
Evidence of building processes that scale. You’ve turned a recurring problem into a repeatable process that handles growing volume without sacrificing quality or requiring a proportional increase in manual work.
Strong analytical background. A degree or equivalent in computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics or another analytically demanding subject, or comparable achievement through technical work, research or independent projects.
Evidence of solving difficult problems independently. You can explain an unfamiliar problem you tackled, how you broke it down, the decisions you made and the result you achieved.
Evidence of working effectively with agents, e.g. ChatGPT/Cowork/Grok bots.
Experience representing an organisation professionally in conversations with candidates, prospects, customers or other external contacts.
Preferred qualifications
Experience working with elite talent in professional sports, special forces, EF, YC, ARIA, Thiel Fellowship, Schmidt Science Fellows or similar environments.
