About the role
About Us
Harmattan AI is a next-generation defense prime building autonomous and scalable defense systems. Following the close of a $200M Series B, valuing the company at $1.4 billion, we are expanding our teams and capabilities to deliver mission-critical systems to allied forces.
Our work is guided by clear values: building technologies with real-world impact, pursuing excellence in everything we do, setting ambitious goals, and taking on the hardest technical challenges. We operate in a demanding environment where rigor, ownership, and execution are expected.
About the Role
Harmattan AI is seeking a Global Sourcing Manager Electronics to serve as a supply chain expert across electronic systems, including printed circuit boards (PCBs/PCBAs) and custom wire harnesses. In this strategic, high impact position, you will drive the procurement of essential parts, raw materials, and manufacturing services required to build our hardware. You will build resilient strategic supplier networks for emerging and legacy product lines, optimizing for technical capability, unit economics, and quality standards. Working closely with engineering, production, and business units, you will vet supplier capabilities, structure robust commercial terms, and proactively derisk a complex, rapidly scaling electronics supply chain.
Responsibilities
Architect and execute long term category roadmaps for PCBs, PCBAs, and cable harness assemblies, targeting cost optimization, quality control, supply resiliency, and full product lifecycle alignment.
Direct competitive bidding activities (RFIs, RFQs, RFPs) and strategic sourcing campaigns, maintaining ultimate accountability for part quality, timeline adherence, and target cost fulfillment.
Act as the primary relationship owner and escalation contact for Contract Manufacturers (CMs) and specialized board and harness fabricators, overseeing supply continuity, risk mitigation, price negotiations, and the transition from New Product Introduction (NPI) to full scale Mass Production (MP).
Collaborate with Hardware Engineering and manufacturing partners to refine design specifications, align production processes, and guide strategic CapEx and equipment investments.
Evaluate supplier quote structures through granular cost breakdown analysis, leveraging Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) models to guide procurement decisions.
Draft and settle commercial agreements, securing competitive unit pricing, favorable payment terms, and delivery schedules.
Work across internal functions to fulfill rapid prototyping needs, meet hardware build milestones, resolve technical bottlenecks, and integrate novel vendor technologies.
Lead operational initiatives around integrating new and adapted electronics technologies, delivering technical briefings and progress updates to executive leadership.
Establish vendor evaluation systems to track key performance metrics across quality, operational execution, cost variance, and continuous innovation.
Candidate Requirements
Educational Background: Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Relevant Experience: 6+ years of specialized experience managing electronic commodities (PCB/PCBA, custom cabling, wire harnesses) within a high tech sourcing or supply chain engineering environment.
Technical Aptitude: Advanced proficiency in Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) modeling and data driven vendor evaluation within complex hardware architectures.
Commodity Strategy: Demonstrated ability to craft clear commodity strategies in direct collaboration with engineering leadership.
Proven Leadership: Strong cross functional leadership skills, with a track record of driving alignment across diverse teams.
Adaptability & Mobility: Highly adaptable, hands on professional who thrives in a fast paced, dynamic environment, bridges operational gaps, and removes process friction.
Communication & Influence: Excellent written and verbal communication, capable of engaging a wide range of stakeholders, from junior members to senior executives.
Sector Exposure: Prior exposure to defense, aerospace, automotive, or high reliability technology sectors is strongly preferred.
Commitment: 100% dedication to Harmattan AI's mission, vision, and ambitious growth plans, ready to go the extra mile to ensure operational excellence.
We look forward to hearing how you can help shape the future of autonomous defense systems at Harmattan AI.
